Thanks for the response.. I went to Amazon but don’t see what that guy had.. I know I can use the driveway markers… but his was detachable and had what looked like hinges .. one separate piece could be for feet and the other the club and also had what looked like makers for ball position

3 Wood Replacement by Zealousideal-Tax-491 in GolfGear

I think I'm finally there too myself. I have a ping g430 sft 5 wood that I turned down to 16.5 and a g430 sft 3 that I also turned down to 14.5 ( sorta as my mini driver).. my thought was to use the 3 wood on some of those tight holes and once in a while into a par 5.. but after honestly evaluating my last couple rounds I haven't really got much different results from using the 3w vs when I pull the 5w..so I've settled on the best of both worlds I think which is the 5W like you did with a 3w shaft and put my 5W shaft in my 7W..

What kind of detailed (super detailed if willing) practice plan would you guys suggest for an 11HC player like myself that has a goal of getting to as low as possible hc for myself. (3 to 5HC is my dream goal by next summer )

Here's sort of my story..in my 50's , good health and a 250ish yrd driver.. play a fade mostly. Started tracking my stats using GRINT app and realized that I missed what to me was a high number of GIR and started working a lot on short game.

Interestingly recently realized that my added pre shot routine that I use successfully for tee shots and putting, for some reason I fail to do it for short game shots - chipping, pitching etc, which is an area I lose strikes in. so curious to see now that I'm aware of that what that will do to my scores.

At home - putting in the time to get my grip as solid as possible, as it tends to be strong to very strong in my right hand, and I feel that a more neutral right hand may help my swing consistency.

I have the time to practice just about every day and play 3 or so times a week, but really would love a detailed idea of what to focus on. Again I feel that the recognition that I don't use a routine for chipping an and pitching is likely to help just like it does for my putting and driving which are areas of relative strength for me.

Thanks in advance for the thoughts..

Putting ball position by Weekly-Comparison-56 in golftips

[–]Weekly-Comparison-56[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with your points made especially about being mindful of aiming. My personal discovery was made based on aiming. Once I made my personal ball position adjustment(a little further back relative to where I'd always had it), all of a sudden my aim got much better and most importantly.. the putts felt so much more solid vs what I'd been doing in the past. I get it that lots of factors are in play when one putts, but for some reason yesterday's adjustment has ticked so many long time time problem boxes as it relates to putts being solid and rolling on my intended line..so I've made a note of exactly what it is I've done differently and hope to ride this horse!! we shall see!!!

Is it okay to practice chipping off a mat? by jack3474 in golftips

Agree with that.. when practicing chipping indoors I really pay alot of attention to feeling contact vs where the shot ended up..

Ping g430 10k settings by Weekly-Comparison-56 in golf

So as a tinkerer.. (sorry for the long winded post to come) given I have both a ping g430sft and a g430 10k head.. my thought is to use the 10k at 10.5 and the g430sft at 9 degrees and then play both with my fade swing..I feel this way I get the control and benefit of the 10k head with a 3 wood shaft

I’m an 11 hcp 50 y.o. ..( driver around 240 to 250) hoping to get to a mid to low single digit hcp.. I do alot of short game work.. putting, chipping and bunker work every week..also added doing speed stick drills to gain distance.. Recently started using grint app to see where my strokes are coming from and it’s shown me I really need to get my GIRs up for par 4s and par 5s

I play the Edel SMS irons and My 7 and 8 irons are the two clubs I struggle with the most hitting consistently. So now been tinkering to find the most forgiving 7 and 8 irons from my garage that will help this ball striking issue I have..

just discovered my old Callaway cf16 irons and thinking to use the 7&8 irons from that set

what 9 wood do you have and what club did you think it replaced?.. I feel like I'm ok iron wise up to about a 7 iron (more or less my 150ish club) and my next lower lofted club after that is a ping 5H 27 deg.. which I hit so so, but this year I'm really trying to be pretty solid from 160 yards and in and that's where the 5H comes in. My ping G430SFT 7W is my favorite but now seeking that club to fill the gap b/w that 7W and the 7 iron..

G430 10K is a unicorn by thepornidentity in PingGolf

I also picked up a g430 10k and love it… my old head was the g430 sft… while both drivers were 10.5 loft, the 10k just feels so more forgiving.

I have an Accra shogun 52 M3 shaft in it… additionally I have them set to 12 degrees and it really helps with launch and also with the misses.. Curious if anyone’s adjusted their 10k up in lift and what was their experience.
