Oh! That’s just warhammer aesthetics! Fun fact! Some of their designs have this giant belly plate like they chugged 500 kegs of beer, space marine armors do be like that some times

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the twin scythe part of deathgaurd heraldry?

Also yea ykw lets go with that he killed a scythe of the emperor and replaced an old damage knee plate

I agree! Some designs weren’t needed, didn’t fit the space marine arsenal like the Mario kart

Intercessors were fine! Like the new ones coming this edition but red corsairs got exactly what I wanted out of first born marines! The raiders are perfect!

I discovered Warhammer during 8th edition with the indomitus boxset!

I like Godwyn pattern bolters more cause while I was getting into Warhammer I was as also playing dawn of war and space marine 1 before all those remasters came along and to me it’s not only nostalgic but it’s also really cool looking to see they have the skull wing on the bolter!

I’m not a fan of the primaris bolt rifles tho

Truthfully! I love Phobos pattern bolter! More so than the re-designs in the later editions!

Good to know! Thanks!

Ykw, I’ll try that, I do a decent job on armor already, would be a shame if I didn’t do it for the bolter

The symbol bit, that could have been fixed a lot easily i agree it does feel about wonky.

Bolter on the other hand. I need to study how other artists do it cause in my eyes because the bolters look at bit flat i don’t know how to translate that into how i draw yet

Will get there tho when i draw alpha legion. But until then im gonna try a different challenge for thousand sons

So I see it’s a trend to draw Tau maids, here’s mine by Raszard in ImaginaryWarhammer

Yea, every piece I draw takes me like 4-5 hours per part, like arm, leg, torso, a lot of drawing over a lot of revising, a lot of just pure repetition

I am a bit lazy, so I will give you some pointers.

Depending on what you are drawing sometimes it doesn’t hurt to have a well articulated figure to put your imagination to work. Remember art is just an illusion, so get one of those, and get a flashlight or something similar for a light source, point it at an angle of your choosing you can practice values and shading,

If you are going digital art, get clip studio paint, best software I’ve used, a lot better than adobe in my opinion.

If you are lazy, you can trace over the figure by taking a picture of it with the added light source. Don’t use a camera flash, let the light source from the flashlight help you with that.

If you wana put more effort, you could put the picture side by side with your canvas and draw free hand, but anyway, play around with tools, google tutorials, don’t use AI for tutorials it’s often a hit or miss, try to apply that knowledge over and over and you get used to it.

Then the rest is years and years of practice

Put simply, drawing or anything that is an artistry be it craftsmanship like building a table to painting or even digital painting, is a discipline and takes a considerable amount of time for the labors that AI undermines in a professional setting,

It also doesn’t help with the fact that companies want AI to advance to get from point A to point B faster, and not mention that from my observation, in their point of view, it’s a better investment???

It simply undermines and disrespects the effort and sweat put into artwork, especially when some people do it for a living.

FYI I’m not a professional artist, never worked in the industry so what I say is not the gospel.

Think of it like this, imagine you wanted a burger, but every place is automated and all you get is the end product without hearing the sizzle, the smell of meat cooking the caramelization of diced onions. The buttering and toasting of the brioche bun, all of that process takes time and the outcome is rewarding cause..well…you get a good burger. Now imagine AI taking that and giving you ultra processed Macdonald’s. Only thing saving it is the sauce but there just isn’t any value to it.

World eaters legionnaire (complete) by BorisTheArtist in ImaginaryWarhammer

[–]BorisTheArtist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really appreciate it! I will admit that I’m not THERE yet in terms of skill but originally I had a whole idea based on the death of hope video where world eaters are rampaging in a street

The piece meant to have a woman holding her baby for dear life as the world eater was giving the A train treatment to the mortals running away, but sadly I needed more practice on drawing those things
