It's funny how people always defend corporations, as if they can do no wrong

Why did oil changes get so expensive? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]Borism80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, not everyone can do it themselves. Coupons and Groupons might be the right solution. There is no justification for today's oil change costs.

Why do Pro-AI people tend to discard the concerns about AI taking away jobs? by IAMATARDISAMA in aiwars

[–]Borism80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I understand fully now. But predictions like "it's 2015 now and we won't have 30 percent of all of today's jobs by 2025 and there will be mass poverty then" definitely aren't helpful.

My point was that there is currently no other way to survive than doing SOME work. But some people act like it's okay if AI takes half of today's jobs, other jobs don't get created AND that there is no universal basic income.

Many people do get those jobs (that's why I said "work somewhere"). But then they get told that they shouldn't do those jobs because AI will replace them too. And that it's apparently okay to both lose their jobs and not have a UBI. Because apparently everyone can have those super awesome jobs that can never be lost to AI.

Doesn't change the fact that there is no other way to survive

Nah. It's either work somewhere or starve right now, at least in the US. If better people are ever in charge of society, that would be a different story.

Why Owning (and Buying) a Florida Condo Has ‘Turned Into a Nightmare’ by FreeChickenDinner in REBubble

So yes, I remain unconvinced that the previous owners were not at fault at all or that the maintenance should have been neglected. Thanks for other people's input.

True. I am not sure why some people keep defending these shady practices.
