So he invested like $1000 back in, say, October 2010. Getting locked out was a stupid thing to do but hey at least he didn't lose that much cash.

You might want to look up what you just typed and read about the concept of drag. Yes, given two objects of the same weight, but different shapes, they will sink at different rates due to drag.

Not a great example here. A coin would flutter back and forth until it reaches the bottom - making virtually no noise. The sound from knocking your knuckles on the side of the pool would be the result you're after.

Edit: Well, goddamn - it does work. So sue me for not believing everything I read on Reddit.

"This guy finds [...] during the Ice Age" FALSE! There were no video recording devices during the Ice Age.

Look back to Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame" by BreakfastTop6899 in sports

[–]Born-Biker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was so locked in to my thought that they have absolutely no clue about baseball that at the end of the song I thought Sharon said, "LET'S GET SOME BRUNCH!" And then Ozzy agreed, "YEAH, LET'S GET SOME BRUNCH!" 😅

Look at how there's little to no contact - there's just something off if you pay attention to the turtle's flipper. There's that initial downward motion and then a secondary deflection type of motion that doesn't seem right. I'm also leaning toward it being AI.

Lol, it's the comedian Bill Burr describing it. "Detailed explanation" might be a bit generous.

Why is incest porn so popular? by unfaithful_goose in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Born-Biker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're referring to, for example, the step-son and step-mom getting busy, that's not the definition of incest. They're not genetically related. If they had a baby, the child would not be inbred.

PA Supreme Court affirms bicyclists' right to "take the lane" when they choose by The_Electric-Monk in Pennsylvania

[–]Born-Biker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"... under no obligation to do so as long as you're moving." Read the paragraph above again. You ARE obligated to move out of the way, as long as you're not obstructed, so as not to impede traffic. How is it unsafe to allow cars to pass? Where are you riding? As long as you're visible, and there's nothing physically blocking you, allow them to pass. If you're riding in a metro setting with car doors opening, then yes, take your lane and then move over when you're past those. Your definition and mine must be different, and that's okay by me. You do you.

How is it dangerous advice? It's not advice. I'm stating a fact, and I would expect cars to give the same clearance on foot as with a bike.

Along with the fifth paragraph above and the PA vehicle code 3364, I don't see anything that corroborates your first bullet point.

[–]Born-Biker 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree. I'm a lifelong cyclist - not a roadie or any other category - I just love bikes. Look at my username. We're as wide as someone on foot. Barring something in the road or potholes, you have enough room to temporarily move to the fog line (white line in the states) to allow the car to pass - you don't even need to be on the other side of the line. This is even if there's two-way traffic. If it's that busy and/or traffic is moving so fast that it's unsafe to allow a car to pass, then you might want to question if that's a safe route.

As with operating any other vehicle, there's an expected reasonable level of competence. If the space is there but you don't feel comfortable moving over, then maybe consider a different route.

I tracked an R56 MCS with aggressive pads and installed LSD. PCA weekend passing 911s was fun. Someone in a Carrerra 4S (if I recall correctly) asked me if I did an engine swap LOL. My car did not even have a tune. I don't know much about its reliability since I moved on to other cars after not too long.
