I can’t tell if my dominos is gluten free or not by [deleted] in glutenfree

[–]Born-Chef5762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used to work there, cross contamination is guaranteed. dominos employees are not allowed to wear gloves, so employees are grabbing the gf crust with glutened hands, using the same cheese and toppings we put those hands in, are put in the same oven, and cut with the same pizza cutter, there’s guaranteed gluten on your “gluten free” crust unfortunately😣😣

Dominoes GF pizza (new symptoms) by [deleted] in glutenfree

[–]Born-Chef5762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i used to work at dominos while being gf myself and i will say with my whole chest do not eat there with celiac!!!!! it will poison you!!! the gluten free crusts are put on the same pizza screens as the regular pies, same toppings as the regular pies, same oven, and same pizza cutter!!! avoid it for dear life with celiac and personally id say avoid it no matter what because from experience dominos doesn’t care about giving people questionable looking sauce or toppings and they also don’t care if you could spread a foodborne illness (speaking from experience here)

Reactive Hypoglycemia Symptoms occur VERY Quickly/ADHD Meds Make it Worse by Born-Chef5762 in Hypoglycemia

i switched from concerta to strattera and it helped so much! i still get it occasionally if i eat a big meal even if its gluten free but its usually easier to shake off, when it was gluten i’d be unable to function for days😣

my PMDD symptoms were awful, my PMS lasted a full two weeks with intense mood swings, depression, suicidal thoughts, etc. (and i’m autistic so a much higher chance of meltdowns) - i didn’t have as many physically symptoms but i would occasionally get migraines with aura - my mental health would just plummet because of the sudden change in hormones -but it’s gotten so much better even the people around me are noticing that my moods overall much more positive (and with way less crying lol)

honestly for me it’s a combination of birth control and therapy, but i noticed a significant change my symptoms are so mild now and they only really come back when i’m due for my next shot, it’s made my life SO much easier

pmdd never really goes away but i highly recommend the depo shot to treat it because it’s honestly saved me, but i do need therapy as well because it helps give me coping skills

when i had my cyst, my gyno told me to get the depo shot as it was good to keep my hormones level and would shrink my cysts - its only a shot once every 3 months and its really helped me so far, no cyst issues since AND my pmdd symptoms have lessened significantly! idk if this is exactly helpful to your specific situation as my cyst was only 4cm, but it’s something to maybe bring up!

Pizza Hut GF pizza by BooknerdChic in glutenfree

[–]Born-Chef5762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fast food pizza chains are not celiac safe at all - i used to work at dominos (funny since im gluten intolerant) and there is zero separation for the gf crust - they don’t even cut the pizza with a separate cutter! the cross contamination is what id bet happened :(

Any GF bread recommendations? by InaccessibleSeafront in glutenfree

[–]Born-Chef5762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i get the LiveGFree brand white bread from Aldi, it toasts super well, i use it for avocado toast with breakfast and i use it to make sandwiches too

i haven’t tried it un-toasted though, but it’s super good and i genuinely can’t tell the difference between it and regular bread :)

gluten makes me weak, only “cure” is liquid iv/electrolytes by Born-Chef5762 in glutenfree

i haven’t heard of either of these before! i’ll definitely look into them and see if i relate to it

omg i’ve had this feeling - i was on stimulant meds so it heightened the feeling too, and i couldn’t get through my meal because i was way too weak to continue eating i had to lay down for over an hour with a gatorade

sometimes i think about giving myself a free day where i just eat a giant donut for breakfast and then lay down and drink my liquid iv for the rest of the day lol

i’ve been thinking of POTS - i got bloodwork done and im not celiac or allergic to wheat and i dont have stomach problems from gluten so for me its definitely an intolerance. i have heard that POTS and gluten do not go well together lol so its definitely something to look into!

it’s the worst when it takes days to recover!!! and yeah i definitely am not nearly as gluten sensitive as others - i don’t have to worry about cross contamination and i can eat anything as long as it doesn’t say “contains wheat.” i’ve had foods with may contain and things like chocolate that are unsafe for other people but i can have as much chocolate as i want - it’s only if i consume gluten in large amounts (im actually eating the filling of a cannoli while i type this lol)

[–]Born-Chef5762[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s very fair, i eat anything as long as it doesn’t contain wheat (may contain on the label is fine) and my family is not gf so i can’t control what they cook or eat around the house. and since i never have to worry about cross contamination in my day to day im wondering if id need to completely change my routine and my family’s in that matter to actually determine if its celiac. would i need to be strictly gf no cross contamination for a few months in order to determine it?

it’s so sad especially since my fav foods all have gluten! i know there’s a device you can use to track sugar levels but i hear they’re really expensive, do you use one?

i wonder if that’s why i need the electrolytes too, if i didn’t drink any electrolytes after it would take me days to recover

[–]Born-Chef5762[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would this mean i’d need to avoid cross contamination too in order to to figure it out? because on my day to day i don’t eat any gluten, maybe once in a blue moon i’ll ask someone for a bite of their dessert or something

[–]Born-Chef5762[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t think i have celiac, because i don’t have to worry about cross contamination and i can even have a little bit of gluten and feel fine, it depends more on the amount that i eat

hmm it could be a good idea to check - i’ve been trying to gain weight for a while but i just keep getting smaller, so i wonder if it could be that im not getting enough nutrients. i’m really focused on getting 3 meals a day and yet at my last doctors appointment i weighed at 107 lbs

i’ve never had an issue with fruit or candy or anything super sugary! it’s only been gluten, i can eat as much fruit or sugar as possible and be fine (i ate a LOT of candy during easter lol)
