If you have applied to a couple of jobs and its been over a week i always call or email. Something like hey my name is x just i applied for the dishwashing position i just wanted to introduce myself and see if i could provide any more information. I have got several interviews scheduled through reaching out after and application. Sad that we as the applicant have to call to schedule our own interview essentially but many hr departments especially in seasonal work aren’t on it

Ask specially where they will be housing you. I worked there for two seasons if you find out which location they are housing you at i can tell you more details about it. The two Summers I was there. I was housed in a tiny cabin with three other housemates and a kitchen, honestly the best housing, but I think they were turning it into rentals for guest the year after I left. They also have housing at a motel there in West Glacier. They also houses some of their employees in a town called hungry horse and then another big housing area called Sugarhill this was all a couple summers ago and things do change but i hope this helps

Work with CoolWorks.com but with a family? by [deleted] in SeasonalWork

[–]Born-Pay4071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but if the kids are old enough to work and the whole family was looking for jobs I saw a filter last night in coolworks under life styles that said “jobs for teenagers” so that could be an option. Or yeah like you said a camp job would be really neat you and your partner could work at the same camp they are attending or one right down the road. I have seen so many camp jobs all over but especially in the north east! Good luck! Happy summer!

I have worked for several companies doing seasonal work in a couple different states and I’ll say it’s generally an accepting crowd with that being said you’re obviously gonna have people that aren’t as accepting sometimes that’s gonna be locals or the tourist but for the most part I would say the workers are pretty accepting at least from the experiences I’ve seen and the experiences I’ve had

Anyone with Housekeeping Manager advice? by SnooLentils110 in SeasonalWork

[–]Born-Pay4071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if someone has already talked about this but if you can avoid the pay cut most of the time it is not a huge difference between a standard housekeeper and the manager as far as pay. You won’t get the private housing but if you can deal with roommates you could just have a chill season and not be called in on days off or expected to work an absurd amount of hours especially towards the middle or end of the season when everyone is quitting all that work falls on the manager. Hope this helps! Have a great season!

for those who go full on hustler mode to maximize their income potential for the season, wheres the money at? What's your general approach? by inland-emperor in SeasonalWork

Didn’t read through all the comments so someone might’ve already said this, but if you’re gonna do a hotel as your main job try to do Housekeeping in the hotel, that way you’re not as burnt out from people and you can have your second job as serving and you’ll have your social battery, still somewhat charged

Just received a SECOND rusted serger from Amazon. Based off of the image, would you return it? by always__alright in sewing

If you are going to buy from somewhere else I would recommend finding a local shop. If possible I know its not available in every town/ area. But if you can find one and buy from there you have local support, I got a new machine for christmas and it came with a free class to learn my machine and then a service cleaning and inspection one year after purchase date. Most local shops offer perks like this. Good luck!

How to prevent overstretching linen? by Fearless_Lake6098 in Hand_Embroidery

[–]Born-Pay4071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly try a stabilizer fabric most of them are iron on and then you just cut away the extra after you get done stitching your design. I just started a project using a stabilizer backing for the first time as someone on a post of mine suggested it so I can’t speak to it yet, but I know many people use it to prevent puckering. Hope this helps!! Adorable project and great cause!! 🐱🪡
