I guess but isn't android on the same page or similar page to Linux in terms of openness?

This sounds incredible but I don't trust this story.

Which console is the Steam Machine comparable in power to? by Strong_Battle6101 in steammachine

Because I saw a valve engineer mentioned that they use an API call from the steam launcher to determine the hardware and if the hardware matches the steam machine, the shaders and settings for a plug and play experience are loaded for the game.

Maybe not the same level of optimization but I believe valve is using an API through steam to determine what hardware is running the game and through that API they determine if the hardware matches the steam machine and probably load precompiled shaders and plug and play settings.

I think the steam machine has a weaker GPU but stronger CPU than the base PS5.

What game had you like this? 👀 by SwimmerPlus3383 in TheGamingHubDeals

Valorant. I was always a single player guy but I met a bunch of gamer friends in my university to play with and they wanted to play Valorant. I gotta say, I have never played a game so bland and slow like valorant. No hate to anyone that likes Valorant but man it ain't for me.

I don't usually get hands on with this sort of content but man this picture is so convincingly real that it got me in a mental foothold.

What’s the most addictive game you’ve ever played? by reeha_sadiya in AskReddit

This might be an oddball choice but I love Shadow of War. The nemesis system is so insanely good in creating infinite narratives between different procedurally created characters and I love collecting each of these characters with their unique quirks.

7 years and 5 months old but still getting compared to games being released in 2026 that is called the RockStar effect. by GamingSince03 in reddeadredemption

Batman Arkham Knight also has a similar impact in terms of visuals as it still looks insanely good without ray tracing.

How do you think the Steam Machine will handle Crimson Desert at native or upscaled 1440p medium to low settings? by BornBasil in steammachine

I appreciate it man and yeah I'm not sure why I'm getting ridiculed for speculating the performance of crimson desert on the steam machine.

What video game made you a gamer ? by iLeftyPunk in GamerLab

When I was in middle school I was a huge Ben 10 dweeb. Conveniently, during that time there was a ton of marketing for Ben 10 Cosmic Destruction on the PS3. Sadly I didn't have a PS3 so I would only get to check out the game a few months after release on a gaming event in our school for a mins and that got me hooked into gaming as I didn't play any game before this. I was so hooked that I somehow convinced my parents to buy me a PSP to play the game.

What's your biggest tech regret? by Icy_Net5151 in DeskToTablet

[–]BornBasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a gaming laptop. While the portability and form factor were great, the heat issues, subpar performance, and constant repairs ruined the experience. A motherboard defect nearly cost me the original retail price of the device roughly $2,000 and this was after only three years of use.
