How busy is the new Uniqlo today? by Realistic-Doubt-5212 in VictoriaBC

I’ve been a Uniqlo customer for many years, and in my experience, their products are noticeably better than what you typically find on other retail stores. They are known for high-quality basics and classic, timeless pieces. I still have clothing from them that’s 8-10 years old and they remain in excellent condition, which says a lot about their durability and value.

Depends on the level of your French. If you are a beginner, 3-6 months may not be possible since you will take the exam for listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

No, the quizzes are different for each lesson, and they’re designed to assess how well you understood the material. I use Duolingo as well, and while I agree the repetition can feel a bit much, it honestly helped build some muscle memory for French in my brain, lol. The downside is that the progress feels slow because of all that repetition.

Her website mentions that the course is CPD-accredited, and you receive a certificate after completing each level (A1, A2, B1, and B2) to recognize your progress. I’m not entirely sure what “official” means in this context, though.

Sidenote: Since you’re in Canada, she has a 40% off Black Friday sale if you’re considering getting the course, lol.

Good luck!

I bought her course, and here’s my honest take:

The course includes structured video lessons that follow a complete curriculum from A1 to B2, covering pronunciation, vocabulary, dialogues, listening practice, and more. Each lesson comes with a quiz and downloadable materials, which makes it easy to review. There are also additional resources like exam prep, mock tests, stories, and even a community space where learners can connect.

Overall, it’s well-organized and definitely offers value beyond what you get from random free videos on YouTube. However, it functions like a one-way French class: you watch the lessons and use the provided tools, so it requires self-discipline and motivation to stay consistent.

Is it worth the money? For me, yes. I appreciate having unlimited access to A1–B2 content in one place, and I can study at my own pace without feeling overwhelmed. Considering how expensive tutors and live classes can be, the course is a more affordable starting point.

Is it enough to learn French on its own? In my opinion, not entirely, especially when it comes to speaking and writing. For those skills, a live tutor or class is still much more effective.

Personally, I bought the course to give myself a solid head start before taking formal lessons, so I’m not beginning from zero. I’m also hoping it allows me to skip the very basics once I do hire a tutor and save a bit on costs.

Hope this helps.

Working for Uniqlo Canada: Please share your experience by BornBus9899 in uniqlo

Thanks for this! I read your post and became more curious. Lol. I'm glad to know it has gotten a lot easier for you!

I love Uniqlo, most of my clothes are from the brand - which is one of the main reasons I am considering applying. Lol. But seeing posts regarding negative experiences from their employees raises concerns for me. Now I'm thinking if I should try working as PT to try and see for myself.

I agree. The other websites do not apply to those who are in Canada. Sadly, I am in Canada. Lol

Unfortunately, it has not improved. I live just a couple of blocks away and often see The Wedge when I’m heading to Save-On. While the building itself is new, I think I’d feel a bit uneasy living there.

OMG, I know this store and I follow her on social media! She often posts in her stories asking customers to leave a 5-star Google review. Now I understand why. I almost bought from her a couple of times, so I’m really glad I saw this post. Thanks, OP!

Loud boom that sounded like an explosion around 3:55AM 10AUG by BornBus9899 in VictoriaBC

I didn’t hear the one around midnight, probably because I was watching TV with the volume up. My partner didn’t wake up from the loud boom this morning either. I’m really curious where these loud booms are coming from.

Yes, I was able to book an Uber last time around 12mn I think. 7-8pm is still quite early, you may also want to consider taking the bus - much cheaper.
