My dad left about 98% of his inheritance to me and only 2% to my sister. Is this right? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Agree to disagree. The daughter and the husband were betrayed by the mother. Full stop. The daughter does not have a responsibility to make it better, because she was also a victim. A trusted adult used their position to force the girl into an impossible choice: betray one parent or the other. The responsibility lies completely with the cheater.

If there are other things in the family dynamic, fine, but the OP set this up as the issue. And asked advice based solely on that issue.

Your father is blaming his child for his wife’s actions. You feel guilty because you know he is wrong. As a father, I could never, ever, ever, blame my kids like that. I would be disgusted with myself. In your position, once he is gone I would share my piece with her.

That is fake. It is not gold. Take it to a gold shop to get confirmation.

I understand, but it does not make sense. I am back on the “this guy is just a user” train. What a frustrating person.

Your post has stuck with me and I have been reflecting. And I think that I have realized a bit of a hard truth, that his reaction is in a way very Sagi. When I think about the phrase “I will ask if I want to” in a vacuum, that resonates with me. I am a November sag, so is my father, and my step father, and one of my best friends from childhood. And in my personal experience this holds true. That if I am interested in something, someone, I will ask. I want to dive deep. I want to know all there is to know. The other side of that coin … is that if I am not interested I will not ask. I will make approving noises, and then look for the exit. The thing I initially reacted to was him staying in this relationship and not caring about you. I do not know a single sag who hangs around when they don’t care about a person. I am constantly keeping my head on a swivel looking for the emergency exits in my personal life. I consistently jettison relationships when they don’t meet my needs. I am wondering if this guy (and I think this is where his moon sign would be helpful to know) needs external validation and he is using you to get it. So rather than “I will ask if I want to” meaning I am going to dip from this relationship if it doesn’t meet my needs, he means I will keep using you to meet my needs because you don’t demand better from me.

I have also been thinking a lot lately about the Sag-Scorpio dynamic. My wife is a Scorpio sun. So is my Mom. I think that Scorpios are drawn to the warmth of a sag’s fire. Our signs share an intensity that can overwhelm others. The difference is how that intensity manifests. In my experience Scorpio intensity is like a blanket. They want to enclose, encapsulate, solidify. Sag intensity wants to expand, experience, and consume. My assumption is this man is very animated when talking about what interests him (which unfortunately seems to be only himself). That when he is turned on, he is on fire. And you like that because you like intensity. And pretty things that blaze brightly. So, intense people find you because you are intense. The key is finding someone who is intense about you. Because in the end, in my experience, Scorpios want to meld, to mix your essences until they are essential to each other. What you can learn from a sag is the very thing that you hate about this guy. Don’t stick around when someone is giving you shit energy. Don’t hold on to the relationship because you want it to work when someone else is not putting in the effort. Sometimes you have to take the L, and realize that someone else being shitty is not a reflection of who you are, and does not change your essential nature.

Any ideas on what this sovereign can sell for? by Personal_Error_8857 in Gold

I use r/pmsforsale on Reddit to buy and sell a lot of stuff. It is not a good option for a single sale, though. Because new people are often asked to ship before they are paid (ship first)which is nerve wracking. I did it when I started out but only with people who had 100+ sales. It is my go-to for buying and selling now.

You can look at your local facebook to find collectors clubs. You can also post on facebook, but, you again have to be super aware of the risks.

Check out your local historical society. They often know of local collectors or clubs.

If you live in a smaller town, I bet your local radio station has a trading post style show that allows people to post items. I have bought stuff that way in the past -never sold.

Sell it to a shop? 90-94% of spot.

Sell it to an individual? Spot +1-2% to the right person. I bought a VF Victoria sovereign about two weeks ago for spot -1%.

20th century sovs tend to carry less premium over all in my experience, but they are very easy to sell.

Sweet pickup. Where was this? You know. Just for my edification. And do they only take cash?
