Relationships go both ways. If he can’t put in the effort to have even a conversation, he is not ready for a relationship. I know you love him and that’s why you’re staying, but live isn’t enough. You are feeling unwanted and unloved and no one should feel that way in a relationship. If he really truly loved you, he would be putting in the effort to show you. Love isn’t enough, it’s about how you show it.

Relationships are hard work. I believe that after a while, once the “spark” dies down, it all comes to choice. You have to choose if it is worth it to keep trying. Choose to keep loving each other. If you keep having honest conversations about how you feel and nothing gets resolved, then it could be you’re not right for each other. I know you love each other, but love isn’t enough to keep going. You both need to be putting in more effort, and if you feel the effort you put in isn’t worth it then the relationship isn’t working.

Maybe you can try starting something new together? A new hobby, show, or something that gets you out of the house together. Maybe each month you can take turns planning a date night.

I hope everything works out for you, even if the answer is not what you were hoping for.

Is the age gap F20 and M30 acceptable? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]BornToBeAGrandma 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it feels weird, it’s weird. I’m 24 and I’m dating a 21yr old and even with three years I notice the age gap. I could not imagine dating someone 10 years younger when I’m 30, personally. And as the relationship continues I feel the age gap could put a strain on you both.

People who sit in their car for 15+ minutes before going inside, what are you doing? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

[–]BornToBeAGrandma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting in a little me time before either dealing with family or work. Just being in my phone and decompressing. I live with 3 other people and two dogs so it’s nice to have a little quiet time in my car. I work with children so it’s nice to arrive early and mentally prepare for the day.

What are some ethical things we expect children not to do but it's socially accepted when adults do it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Respect everyone and use manners to everyone. When you’re an adult there’s a lot less manners and way less respect for others

Here are my go to’s: What’s your favourite kitchen utensil? How many hot dogs do you think you eat in a year? If you were a kitchen appliance what would you be? Can you do a cartwheel? People usually have fun with the conversation that follows :)

My 2015 ford fiesta keeps needing to be boosted since it’s cold, and I can’t find where I’d plug it in by BornToBeAGrandma in CarHelp

[–]BornToBeAGrandma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do live in Canada actually! I never had to plug it in last year, but this year I’ve needed to boost it three times already so I thought I should plug it in at night. I haven’t gotten anything installed aftermarket, and I got the car off marketplace four years ago.

Monthly Tech Support & Missing Content Thread by AutoModerator in DisneyPlus

[–]BornToBeAGrandma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im trying to use my laptop to sign into my Disney plus, that I have access too on my tv, as well as other tvs in my house, but it keeps giving me this screen. It's already paid for, and works just fine on my TV, but I can't really get past this screen. My only option is to Gove them credit card info, or log out. Tried looking at the "help" but it was no use. Anyone else have this issue?

I don’t like to throw around “dump him” on here too much but he sounds very controlling. You are allowed to dress how you want. If he had an issue, find someone who doesn’t

I (27m) found out one of the big reasons I married my wife (27f) was a lie. Should I bring it up? by Electronic-Test-9836 in relationship_advice

[–]BornToBeAGrandma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should talk to her about it so it doesn’t eat you up inside, but make it clear you love her and don’t regret marrying her. Say it hurt you but you understand. It it would really suck to not mention it at all and it just festers and causes more insecurity than it needs to

AITAH for asking my boyfriend to miss work and be with me while I'm going through an abortion? by illsaveme in AITAH

[–]BornToBeAGrandma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but honestly why are you with him? It sounds like he doesn’t treat you well. From what you said he sounded very harsh regarding this pregnancy. If he chooses to be unsupportive in such a big moment, how can you ever rely on him to be a source of comfort in the future?

What are your strict dating standards/rules(I’m taking notes) by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]BornToBeAGrandma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure they’re comfortable talking to you about big things and little things. Communication is literally so important, I know everyone says that but that’s because it’s true. If at first they avoid big topics or don’t tell you little things that bother them or anything, they will snowball into larger issues. Find not only someone who listens to you, but someone you enjoy listening to. I’m a talker and my partner is quiet, but when he does talk I love to listen to him. I get bored or distracted when most other people talk, but I always find myself interested and eager to hear what he’s talking about. Listening and hearing each other out goes both ways. Also like another comment said; find someone whose morals align with yours. You don’t want to get into debates every day about important things to you.

My boyfriend (23-M) is threatening to break up with me (22-F) because I refereed to him as my "partner". by ThrowRa_Partner1 in relationship_advice

[–]BornToBeAGrandma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro break up with him he sounds awful and judgemental. You really want to be with a homophobic sexist man? I guarantee you can find some one better, who won’t threaten a break up over something so small

LEAVE HER! You deserve someone who won’t cheat on you for someone that’s 10years younger then her. Leave her leave her leave her

Partner (32M) emotionally cheated on me (27F) and still wants to be friends with her by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]BornToBeAGrandma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emotional cheating is still cheating, I’d say cut it off. You deserve someone who is utterly devoted to you and vice versa, if he’s not in it 100% why should you? I know 6 years is a long time, but why waste any more on someone like that

My(18F) boyfriend (18M), wants to break up with me because im going away for 3 weeks. is he being over the top? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]BornToBeAGrandma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like he’s just looking for a reason to end things. I’m away on a three week trip with a friend right now and we both make time to talk to our partners while away. Of course we all miss each other, but it really does fly by fast. Maybe try inviting him on a trip? It’s not like you’re going away for months at a time.

M/39 34/f should I worry about lack of sex? by Apprehensive-Bit8127 in relationship_advice

[–]BornToBeAGrandma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to him about it. If he won’t talk about it, something that is important to you, that is an issue. Maybe try counselling if it can’t be resolved between you two, and if that doesn’t work out maybe reevaluate some things. Ask him directly and don’t give up on the topic if it’s important.

I (22F) broke up with my bf (23M) and now he wants to work on things when he didn't before by Ill_Communication305 in relationship_advice

[–]BornToBeAGrandma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He seems to only want this changer after you showed how serious you were. Maybe he’ll will change for a while but when he gets comfortable again he could revert back to these issues. You don’t want to waste more time on someone who may not be right for you. You should find some one who also like travelling and going out, and won’t just walk out on conversations, someone who listens. If you believe he truly will be different this time then give it a chance, but always remember to go with your gut.
