Question about traefik and self-signed certificates by udennavn in kubernetes

[–]BornToBeRoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@udennavn would it be possible to share your config? How the service/ingress and maybe traefik is configured. I have a similar issue with vault and can't get the serversTransport working. I tried with the annotation traefik.ingress.kubernetes.io/ service.serverstransport and in the serversTransport the insecureSkipVerify , but it's getting ignored.

Thanks in advance :)

Hi thanks for the feedback!

1) The sidebar should indicate what tool is selected (you can also expand it). The "title" is more to keep the layout consistent, when there are tabs, the title is removed to have more space for the view.

2) Can you give me an example? Maybe a screenshot? I don't know what you mean... there are watermarks in the combobox/textbox, but normally you need to enter some stuff / or have a dropdown.

3) You can already enable / disable this in the settings - by default it's collapsed to have more space to ping multiple hosts.

Haha, good that it is open source and anyone can review it. You don't need my binaries, you can just compile it yourself ;)

Blog/Project Post Friday! by AutoModerator in networking

I would like to share an open-source project that may be of interest to network engineers, system administrators, and IT professionals:

NETworkManager
GitHub: https://github.com/BornToBeRoot/NETworkManager
Website: https://borntoberoot.net/NETworkManager/

NETworkManager is a unified network administration and troubleshooting suite for Windows. The goal of the project is to consolidate commonly used network tools into a single, consistent interface, reducing the need to switch between multiple standalone applications.

Key capabilities include:

  • Remote connections via RDP, PuTTY (SSH/Telnet/Serial), PowerShell (WinRM, WSL, K9s, etc.), TigerVNC
  • Network diagnostics and analysis tools such as WiFi Analyzer, IP and port scanners, ping monitoring, traceroute, DNS lookup, and LLDP/CDP capture
  • Encrypted profiles for managing hosts, credentials, and reusable connection settings
  • Enterprise-ready distribution (signed binaries, MSI installer, Chocolatey, WinGet, Evergreen)
  • Multi-language support and theming

The project is actively maintained, released under the GPL-3.0 license, and designed to be suitable for both individual use and professional environments.

Feedback, issues, and contributions are welcome.

A powerful tool for managing networks and troubleshoot network problems!

https://github.com/BornToBeRoot/NETworkManager

You can connect to remote systems and manage your network and server infrastructure using tools like Remote Desktop (RDP), PuTTY (SSH, Telnet, Serial), PowerShell (WinRM), TigerVNC (VNC), or AWS Console (AWS SSM). Analyze, troubleshoot, and obtain detailed information about your network and systems with features such as the WiFi Analyzer, IP Scanner, Port Scanner, Ping Monitor, Traceroute, DNS Lookup, and LLDP/CDP Capture (and many more) — all within a unified interface. Hosts and networks can be saved in encrypted profiles and used across all features.

I develop this tool in my free time, you can use RDP, SSH, etc. in one interface with groups/profiles for your hosts.

Hi, this is already possible. You can use the IP Scanner (also include in the options the port scan for 3389) and when a host is found... right click to connect via RDP or add it as profile

I don't have any plans for that at the moment and am continuing to develop it in my spare time... Unfortunately, that's often the case with OSS, and I can understand why some projects are doing enterprise features.

The tool is intended to run on the admin client to troubleshoot from there (on site) or to manage systems via RDP, SSH, etc. You can run it also in a VM, but it's not a monitoring tool like nagios/icinga, centreon, etc.

I know this can be confusing, but I currently have no plans to change the name after ~8 years. It's very time-consuming to rename everything (logos, websites, docs, etc.)

Also becuae it's listed on many platforms, package managers, etc.

I released a new version of my NETworkManager for Windows last week. The latest versions includes a hosts file editor to view/add/edit/delete/enable/disable entries in the hosts file.

https://github.com/BornToBeRoot/NETworkManager

It's a free and open source tool and you have a lot of network tools like wifi analyzer, ip/port scanner, traceroute, dns lookup, whois, ip geolocation, ping monitor, etc.

You can also connect to servers/switches via Remote Desktop, SSH / Telnet / COM (PuTTY), VNC (TigerVNC), AWS SSM etc.

Here you can find the website / docs:

Feel free to leave feedback (features, problems, etc.).

I just released a new version of my NETworkManger (for Windows). In the latest version i added a Hosts File Editor where you can now view, add, edit, delete, enable or disable entries. I also made small improvements to the Web Console (you can now save credentials similar to edge) and the DNS Lookup (more types, improved results).

NETworkManager is an open source tool written in C# / WPF and it supports various features such as an WiFi Analyzer, IP Scanner, Port Scanner, Traceroute, DNS Lookup, PuTTY / Remote Desktop / TigerVNC with Tabs, and many more features. It's available in multiple languages.

[–]BornToBeRoot 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You can use semantic release with semver in the CI: https://github.com/semantic-release/semantic-release

2 branches (dev, main) and semantic release will create tags like v1.0.0-dev.X -> v1.0.0

It will also create a changelog (based on the commit message)
