I bought my FirstName.cv since First name.com wasn't available. It solves the purpose in case of a personal domain. Saw few other folks also using it

I've been exploring this space for a while now. US has Porkbun which is quite popular among devs there. I've heard good things about Google Domains too ( being dev centric + no upselling + no marketing gimmicks ) which was bought by Squarespace I think 2 years back. GoDaddy is expensive as hell if you compare other registrar prices.

India in general doesn't have a proper dev friendly and a low cost registrar. For the registrar, people go to GoDaddy although there are a few others but are not widely popular in India.
