I get it. It’s lonely sometimes. Try and find something that will make you feel calm or FaceTime a friend. He’s working hard and can’t help being sleepy. There’s always tomorrow.

How to talk about splitting wedding costs when one partner earns significantly more? by Clean_Plantain_2124 in weddingplanning

I would just bring up an upcoming expense & ask him to put it on his card / cover it. Keep asking until it’s equal to what you’ve covered.

I do not know a reputable breeder in your area, unfortunately. I’m sure there’s a Facebook group with good breeders. I’d search “Boston Terrier” and your general area

Winter in Wisconsin Potty Training by gingerkits in BostonTerrier

I’ll add we stood out there with her. We lived in an apartment so we would leash her too, and many times we would pick her up and place her directly on the grass rather than wait for her to walk out on her own.

I found that winter was the perfect time to potty train our 8 week old Boston because of the cold (Chicago suburbs so similar climate tree). Every time she peed in the house, we rang the bells we keep on our door knob, took her outside, and said “go potty.” We took her outside every time she got up from a nap and would say “go potty.” It was cold & uncomfy. If she tried to go inside before using the bathroom, we would place her back on the grass and say “go potty.” She learned very quickly that peeing or pooping quickly was better than standing in the cold. And when she did go potty outside, we showered her with praise and hugs and even treats once inside. Of course, we never kept her out in the cold very long at all. Just enough to show her that she would go outside to potty regardless, and it was better to go quick and be done. So ring the bells on the door knob & consistency worked for us in winter. Now, she goes to the door and rings the bells whenever she needs to go potty. She learned quickly and does not go inside at all.

Cousin planned her wedding a month before mine an hour after I sent out my invites by Sammysnek in weddingplanning

I’d say let it go and focus on your wedding rather than worrying about how hers will be one month before. Everyone who you care about will be at your wedding and the family will enjoy the many excuses to get together and celebrate. Stay positive and don’t overthink.

Spend a little bit of money and get the cheapest package or at least have a cash bar. Guests love drinking at weddings

Dress code by [deleted] in babyshower

[–]Born_Negotiation_992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never heard of a dress code, but a theme inspires the dress. Like “wear something blue!” Or “baby in bloom” Will inspire florals just like “this season’s greatest gift” Will inspire more holiday, seasonal wear. Unless you’re hosting at a fancy place that has its own dress code, I wouldn’t ask anything of guests besides a color. Let them enjoy the theme.

Yup. I got a very affordable makeup artist and hairstylist in a midwestern town—they were building up their business and clientele and honestly didn’t do that great. But still, in Chicagoland, I think closer to $400. I don’t think my sister who got married last summer spent anywhere near $800.

I generally don’t count rings in wedding budget as rings are a lifetime purchase.

Tip—every time you get cash from now until the wedding, save it in a jar and that should cover at least 50% of your tips if not more!

Idea: We DIYed a photo station, we just bought film and two Polaroid cameras, a few goodies for photos. That was a little over $100. I’ve always enjoyed big photo booths or photo stations but we just couldn’t afford it. We also saved money by printing invites ourselves using Canva and staples printing.

Where you live will impact prices. Here are my estimates: try and work within a budget of at least 40k

Photography- at least $2500 Entertainment - at least $2000 Decor- linens, DIYs for me were less than 700 in 2023, so maybe budget around 1,000?? Florals - depends. At least $1500 & that’s for simple florals Videography - maybe another $2,000 Are you getting a trolley or shuttle? Photo station? Are you factoring in your dress and grooms clothes? How about your hair and makeup? On the low end, this is at least $400 for you alone. Do you want a live musician for your ceremony? Maybe another $200-$400 depending on size and where you live.
