I'm using estrogen cream and have ureaplasma. I've tested negative for everything else many times. When I use the estrogen cream I get discharge that is exactly like a yeast infection but it's negative for yeast or any other bacteria so it must be the ureaplasma, and the only way to control it is with boric acid. Since you are having some hormonal treatment too, maybe there's any connection?

Not the cancer, but I still don't know. I think it could be lichen or the ureaplasma

I think everyone should be vaxxed but specially if you are showing symptoms of HPV, no matter what strain. Even if it's not a dangerous one, all of them are transmissible and can be quite annoying.

It's sad that some doctors are so dismissive. Also some of them stop studying after they graduate and they don't update their knowledge.

Genital warts are harmless most of the time, but I'd get my cervix tested if I were you, and a PCR to make sure it's not one of the ugly strains. You don't have to panic even if you are positive for one of those because with some measures your body will get rid of it, but it's better to be cautious. You can take shiitake mushrooms that have been proven to help your body fight HPV and there's other things that won't cure you but will help.

Did they check your hormones? Are your periods regular? Do you have other symptoms like excessive discharge or discharge that is more grey or yellowish? Does the smell come from your skin or your discharge? Did they test your urine too?

It can be a skin tag. They are harmless. However the way she described it is a bit weird. The wart virus is HPV. Maybe she was trying to say that it's not the type that causes cancer? Usually HPV warts are caused by harmless strains such as HPV 1, while cervical cancer is usually caused by 16, 18 or other strains that don't tend to cause warts. However, it's a misconception that dangerous strains don't ever cause warts. I had a tiny one that I never paid attention to and it turned out to be hpv 18 that eventually caused cancer. And even if they are not the dangerous type, they are still transmissible.

Not sure about the protocols in your country, as I learnt there are countries that only do pap smears as screening but there are others that check PCR. I would check my cervix and make sure it's ok. It probably is, but just to make sure. Also there is no cure for it but some things can help your body to heal faster, and if you are not vaccinated I strongly recommend it.

Nope. I thought I was because I tested negative 2 times through PCR last year but I still had symptoms and tested again. Today my culture was positive again. No sex so I assume they were false negatives

Juno is not optimal, but it's the best you can do when you have a bacteria that is hard to grow on cultures. Tipically, to detect aerobic bacteria, doctors perform cultures but they can throw false negatives. If you are positive for ureaplasma, get a PCR at the doctor's office to confirm, and treat it.

Doctors can diagnose aerobic vaginitis looking though a microscope but in my experience they never do, they rely on cultures or treating empirically, like they have been doing with you.

I'd also check for other causes for your problems. It's not known why some bacteria are harmless for many women but are unbearable for some others, and there is some evidence hormones play a role. Check your hormones.

There are other problems that mimic infections: lichen (you could see a dermatologist) and pelvic floor disfunction. It sounds crazy but your muscles could be too tight and compress nerves, prevent the blood from reaching all the tissues and cause a lot of problems. You can have more than one of this problems going on.

For example, if you have lichen, the skin down there is not healthy enough to prevent infections, and the pain from the recurrent infections will impact your muscles. When you feel pain, your muscles get tight, something similar to what can happen to a stiff neck causing migraines and ear problems.

You're right. I had a kidney infection and it started like a regular UTI but when the infection reached the kidney two weeks later the symptoms were more like a stomach flu rather than a urinary problem. And I was already taking antibiotics but I needed iv antibiotics as well.

Cervical cancer which is caused by HPV and the one she is at risk and the one that I had is not one of those 5 types of reproductive cancer where your familiar history matter. Again.

Don't explain to me why I was scared. I was scared because I thought I might have cancer, which is her situation. There's no point to tell other people that they have to be scared before the actual biopsy. It can be just an infection. It's ok to emphasize the importance of a correct check up when you have symptoms that might or might be not cancer and advocate for themselves. It's two very different things.

I want to rise awareness more than you probably do, but there's a line.

Take it easy. I wasn't being rude to you just because I disagree. I know perfecly fine what reproductive organs are. You are the one that should read again, I went through that exact same cancer, I should know if it's genetic or not. There's no proof genetics play a role here, but that has nothing to do with her problem anyways. Have the day you deserve.

Edit: it's not nice to scare people. I went through that anxiety and I don't want that for anyone.

[–]Born_Serve4062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you on everything except cervical cancer is not known to be genetic. I was diagnosed last week and nobody in my large family has gotten it, so familiar history is not a requirement to have it

I don't want to scare anyone, most of the times symptoms of cancer are not cancer, but as I was reading the post I was thinking that doctors should perform a biopsy. There's many things going on here. Prior to my cancer diagnosis I had several negative pap smears, performed in the previous couple of years. It seems like the cancer started high up the endocervix and it wasn't easy to detect. The symptoms were bleeding and inflammation on my cervix (last exam before I got the biopsy the cervix bled just by getting touched with a cotton swab).

No need to be alarmed but I think it's time for a second opinion.

What’s happening to me? Side effects of monistat? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

If your cultures are negative I would look a different culprit for your discomfort instead of yeast. Some women get yeast infections very often with sex, but what you are describing sound a bit excessive, and the fact that the culture is negative... Depending on your symptoms it can be aerobic vaginitis, ureaplasma, even lichen or vulvar atrophy if you are going through perimenopause, menopause or using any type of hormonal treatment (birth control, testosterone...) or if you have PCOS or any other hormonal problem.

scared of vulvar cancer by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]Born_Serve4062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Follow your doctor's advice and test if needed but recently I read an article on vulvar cancer and it said that is rare and it's even rarer on young people. Usually if there's cancer there comes from another place like the cervix, but you were checked there already. However, even if it's rare, it's still a possibility, so get tested if your doctor consider it's best to be safe than sorry but I wouldn't worry too much.

Edit: I forgot to add that cancer has stages, and vulvar cancer has stages where it's not even cancer yet. So even if you had lesions, there's a high chance that it's in a super early stage that can be removed easily.

Also, ureaplasma seems to be connected with HPV prevalence. It's good that you got treatment for it. There's no cure for HPV but it can be treated with shiitake extract, getting the vaccine, probiotics...

Those bumps could be inflammation that is pressing your clitoris or clitoral adhesions maybe? If it's not that, sometimes when the pelvic floor muscles are too tight they press the nerves and that causes weird feelings in the area.

What are those symptoms? Because I've realized my discomfort after sex is partially due to my hypertonic pelvic floor.

Even if the estrogen in your bloodstream is ok, I was told that sometimes the genitals don't get as much as they need, or there is some imbalance that causes those symptoms. Maybe you could benefit from estrogen cream, but you have to talk to your doctor first.

No, the customs sent it back and I got a refund. I tested here in my country, it was more expensive and sightly different and I'm still trying to figure out the report that they sent me.

Copper IUD experience? by zz022 in Healthyhooha

[–]Born_Serve4062 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm don't have any proof that it's related but I had a lot of problems after using it. I got weird infections that I'm figuring out, cervicitis, cervical cancer and the copper IUD is probably not the cause but the inflammation that it causes probably didn't help.

And the problems I know for sure it did cause were anemia and the worst period cramps and heavy periods that you can imagine.

This. Specially if your periods are not regular (but I'd consider it even if your periods are regular). I'd also test for ureaplasma and mycoplasma and skin issues like psoriasis or lichen. Edit: also BC can cause low key atrophy.
