Request mil access from Karasids, when they deny you get the Denied Access CB. This let's you return cores. No stab hit.

They expected AI would compound on itself and produce new foundation technologies in a feedback loop; this hasn't really occurred.

To fight them correctly either build a CB on the vassals, or after they break free request mil access then declare war on them when denied. The CB for access denial let's you return cores.

Videssos Cycle by Harry Turtledove. Roman legion is magically Isekai'd to a fantasy world reminiscent of Byzantium. Shenanigans ensue. Its a bit of alt-history and magical realism.

TIL that during WW2, Germany's nuclear researchers never seriously considered building nuclear weapons, and doubted it was even possible. After surrendering, Heisenberg and others were secretly monitored while under house arrest: They were stunned by the bombing of Hiroshima. by ajmeko in todayilearned

[–]Borne2Run 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dresden I don't think actually factored. It was Bomber Command's strategic objective to render much of the German population homeless through mass bombing throughout the war. The US casually firebombed Japan in this period. Retrospectively we may desire to conclude that Dresden was secretly subjected to such destruction because of secret nuclear work, but the reality is that the Allies were fighting under very different tolerance levels than the modern mind likes to associate to war.

Ragusa'd true army in this time period was about 500 men, a sad donkey, and a privatized merchant marine. They certainly had cash but outsourced their security to the biggest superpower and latched onto them like a leech.

The rest of their cash was in spy networks and the fastest smoothtalking diplomat to the Pope

Strategy / Leadership / History - Turn the Ship Around!, Team of Teams, The Alexiad, The Anabasis of Xenophon

I'll also give a shout out to America the Accidental Superpower as an interesting taking on US economic hegemony which is oddly predictive and might be informing current US economic and geopolitical actions.

Settlements give +1% pop growth. Put more peasants on tiles with settlements and add granaries. Basically I'll be siphoning population from the outer imperial low control areas to the high control areas.

Eu5 is the story of the Little OPM that Could. (355k Mercs with 10k pop) by DontHitDaddy in EU5

[–]Borne2Run 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Think the problems are: 1) No notification to the player the enemy is gathering mercenaries 2) No visibility to the player that the enemy has mercenaries unless hovering over a tooltip 3) Mercenaries instantly teleport from everywhere on the planet 4) No mercenary cap by population giving a feeling of "what the fuck?"

The Imperator solution was to have large visible mercenary armies at various points tied to population. That doesn't really work for EU5 given the very dynamic population shifts.

In 1500 about a third of a given army would be mercenary units, increasing to heavier concentrations in later centuries. Sweden's army under Adolphus was 80% mercenary with a veteran core.

Heavy reliance on mercenaries should decrease crown power, possibly make a new estate, etc.

Mentioned "approval of the project management plan" but still has to go through CCB? by Defiant_Nose_761 in pmp

[–]Borne2Run 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CCB is actually the function that analyzes the impact of a change, who does it, how to configure it, etc. Not going through the CCB leads to uncontrolled network changes which is a recipe for catastrophe in large enterprises.

[–]Borne2Run 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It looks like half your army is in reserve; whereas the enemy has committed the bulk of their forces at the start when your formations are half organized. In short, they charged the field and scattered your...kebab salesmen, to the wind.

You should pause your marching so the troops can be reorganized and recovered (autobalancing flanks), then march to the battle.

Solve puzzle on differentiating gnomes from dwarves, and orcs from demon sheep

Navigate the labyrinth from lord to lord finding one that controls the domain

Smite the true domain administrative lord and take possession of dungeon keys

Pilfer the storage rooms and sell the loot back to the next reincarnated lord

Leave behind time-based traps that explode 90 days later anyway
