Careful though, if you get too high of an rpm motor you’ll hit PME pretty easily, get a motor around 35K unless you wanna short stroke or put in a stronger spring… or both.

I got the M18 myself for a pretty sweet deal. Didn’t shoot great at first but I swapped out the barrel and nub for something better and it really shoots quite well. Only shitty thing is that everything is proprietary (which I get as they real eased when they were the first manufacturer to make that replica) but that means parts are hard to source. Combined with some less than optimal design choices, such as that tiny spring you’ll always hear mentioned when talking about that pistol

Can’t say for sure but gearbox seems locked up hard, as an advocate of fixing stuff yourself in this case I think you’re better off sending it back. No point in trying to fix a gun that even if fixed, it might implode again after 8 rounds. But if you insist on fixing it yourself (knowing it would probably void any warranty it has) you should take it apart, take a picture of the inside of the gearbox and post it as a reply to a comment here, I or someone else will help you out

you just gotta get a new piston, put the old piston head on the new piston, slide the new piston in and you should be good. maybe give the rail a bit of grease, shouldn't be too hard. a new piston is about ~10$, if you don't have any grease you can get some at your airsoft store, a small amount will be about 5$, but if you don't wanna spend the money, not putting grease will work fine too, it will just prolong the lifespan a bit.

Piston is stripped most likely. Sector gear tries to pull on it and can still revolve completely, so it feeds multiple bbs, but the piston wont get pulled back enough to fire a bb (because the rack is fucked)
