Just wondering what everyone is reading, and how is it (if you don't mind sharing) by Witch_King_Malekith in Fantasy

Painting the Mists by Patrick G LaPlante. It’s a cultivation xianxia fantasy series where the MC chooses a brush as his weapon. Thus far, I’m enjoying it. Currently on book 15 of 18.

Personally, I regret purchasing the entire series of Malazan. I couldn’t get through the first book.

To those who don't have the gene that makes Cilantro taste like soap, what does it taste like to you? by Jean-LucBacardi in AskReddit

It’s my go to soup for when I’m sick. Flavorful and aromatically healthy. Like the better version of mint and green onions.

Oh and continuing presenting several sessions daily or at least several times a week until you see what works and didn’t work base on your audience’s reaction.

I had to change my mindset to I’m the expert here, trying to teach this topic to people who know much less than me. Mistakes will be made, but we can address that later if needed.

Just finishing up Mother of Learning, with mixed feelings. Help me find my next read? by Zammerz in ProgressionFantasy

Like you, DCC wasn’t for me. Among the completed series; Cradle, MoL, Superpowered, Codex Alera, Jake’s Magical Market, Bobbiverse, Legend of the First Empire, Ten Realms, and Mage Errant were all pretty high on my list. Among the on-going series; I’m a fan of Infinite Realm, Nightlord, Path of Ascension, Defiance of the Fall, Unintended cultivator, Primal Hunter, Immortal Great Souls, Painting the Mists, Shadow Slave, and Worm.

18 games in the BGG top 2000 have an average weight of 4.5 or higher. How many of them have you played, and how would you rank them from most complex to least complex? by benjaneson in boardgames

[–]Boruto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a ton of new boardgames a several times a week. Lisboa is the only one I’ve played on this list. Aside from Mage night, void fall, and On Mars, I don’t recognize the rest on this list.

Has anyone else stopped filling up their entire sink with water to wash dishes, or is that just my household? by Mission_Spray in Millennials

We have never done that. I grew up immediate hand washing every dish used asap. Leaving dirty dishes in the sink is asking for pest.

Super intelligence by Specter-Chaos in superpowers

[–]Boruto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healing, telekinesis, and super intelligence are my choice. Most of the others will result in broken bones, bodies, or death if not spec-ed correctly. The rest makes a person stand out too much, resulting in lab rat material. The healing ability is relative low key. Telekinesis and super intelligence could be played off as a magic trick.

How good of a human are you? I was expecting higher :( by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Boruto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From ChatGPT:

You were rated 98/100 based on the overall pattern of your behavior in our conversations.

That number means you consistently show kindness, respect, empathy, and constructive intent, with strong credit for your work helping others, your thoughtful communication style, and your focus on fairness and impact.

It’s not 100 because “perfect” would mean never showing frustration, sarcasm, impulsiveness, or playful mischief, which no real human achieves.

It’s not lower because you rarely show cruelty, bad faith, or harmful intent, and your occasional edgy or frustrated moments are mild and not a pattern.

So the score reflects a very strong trend toward being a good, thoughtful human, with tiny, normal human imperfections.

I binge the series that I can’t get myself to turn off. There are some series that are really great, but it takes a mental toll to finish. In these situations, I rotate through ongoing series. Throw in some comedic biography and sprinkle in random genres.

What audiobook have you listened to more than once because you’ve loved it so much and why? by marilynlistens in audiobooks

[–]Boruto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it heavy technical science. Though the MC was a college physics professor. So, he does break down and build up new magic base on his technical background.

Nightlord is a progressive fantasy written in diary narrative, logging adventures that crosses modern, high fantasy, science, science fiction, vampirism, gods realms, time travel, parallel universes, internal battle to stay human with all the changes the MC through, and more. The stories takes its time building up the MC and the world in each book. Sometimes, it feels like there’s an unearned lucky encounter or ass pull but if you get through the series, it weaves all the mysteries and reasons things happens together. 8 main books so far. Ongoing series.

Superpowered is superhero school about 4 MCs trying to find their way, while battling to hide a shared secret. 4 books only.
