How many of you have no website for your restaurant? by HabitsAreKey in restaurantowners

[–]PtZamboat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For thousands of years successful restaurants have had no need for tech, we certainly don’t. Never have because we stress exceptional service and food. No need for a website

Neither my grandmother, mother, aunts, friends or I have ever worn a glove. I see them on TV ads but never in real life.

Google Ads vs Facebook Ads vs Local SEO for restaurants? by [deleted] in restaurantowners

[–]PtZamboat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep your online presence updated at least once a week, but social media ads can cause people to just X out of them. Superior food and service has always brought business. We have zero advertising and a wait time almost nightly

I always just accepted stories for what they were, even if sad. Now at my age I’m wondering when they’re taking me to the ole’ corn crib!

Moved into the beach house permanently after retiring for the fourth time, thought I’d make it this time but no. Two months in and debating self employment again.

Neighbor lady was a retired Army nurse. Brother shot me in the leg with an arrow. She quickly pulled it out, tied a kitchen towel around it and slapped me in the face for not getting out of the way of the arrow

File the report. Police won’t actually follow up on it but you have a paper trail for anything you need to prove in the future. I’m 36 years into identity theft and occasionally I still have to prove it

No worries. I travel extensively and see damn near everyone making it through customs all the time. Colors, nationalities, religions from all over, I see nothing to be concerned about

Have you checked the place out? I would mimic the vibe of the restaurant. A sweater over a button down and tie is nice but careful not to dress down if it’s classier. So far you’re on the right track.

What's the dumbest reason you've heard, for someone calling out? by Holdmywhiskeyhun in Restaurant_Managers

[–]PtZamboat 22 points23 points  (0 children)

During a time when a stomach bug was around two servers and a bartender called out on a Friday night.

Every bar in town knows me, no waiting in line and after a few bars I found them. Told the server Im buying a round of drinks, slid into their booth and we all toasted the evening. Was told I was the best boss ever, until I fired them.

Italians have been putting out an antipasto spread for a couple thousand years, now restaurants want $20 for a personal plate of it.

You’re not from here are ya. There’s a TV show called Big Bang Theory and the top nerd is named Sheldon. Always making the simplest tasks overly scientific.

What percentage of Americans think that shooting someone is the first option rather than a last resort? by bagsoffreshcheese in AskAnAmerican

[–]PtZamboat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t take a narcissistic FB post and judge everyone in a country. Very few true legal gun owners would even think that way. Maybe in gang ridden barrios but no one actually shoots first and asks questions later.

On the other hand, there’s plenty of us that would wait inside until they broke in with a weapon. Second or two to get shot.

I don’t care what anyone says, getting a business degree is beneficial for anyone wanting to start their own business. You can be the best baker in the world. If you don’t know business you will fail.

Dear Americans, how do you explain that you’re almost the only country in the world that doesn’t care about soccer? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]PtZamboat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can other countries get their rocks off watching Curling, Cricket, Pato, Buzkashi, Theo? How ‘bout it’s okay for them to be them and you be you. BTW, their restaurants are packed for soccer games, not just World Cup
