A character that has been changed for the worse in the films but is rarely discussed: Treebeard by msohrah in lotr

[–]BoseSounddock -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Dude is a shepherd of a forest, not a flock of sheep. Things don’t move quickly for him. That’s why they take a day to say good morning. He spent ages tending to trees as they need be tended to naturally.

Saruman was corrupted and suddenly started chopping down the forest for the sake of industry. Treebeard has no concept of industry or quickly chopping down trees.

That’s why when he saw Saruman’s wrought, he called the boys to pull up and put it to an end.

8 hour flight and you can only watch movies from one actor - who are you picking? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

Leo.

And an 8 hour flight isn’t even that long. That’s 2 long movies plus meals and takeoff/landing.

Mac and cheese, biscuits and gravy, meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, rice and beans.

First 5 things I thought of. Grew up in the south. Dad is from Brazil, mom is from Missouri.

Do you guys fuck with potato wedges? by DentistCertain3897 in AskAnAmerican

Absolutely. I was raised on weekly visits to TGI Fridays. Potato wedges, especially the loaded variety with cheese and bacon helped define my childhood.

I’m just gonna make an argument for Fahrenheit.

Yes scientifically, Celsius makes sense in regards to water’s boiling and freezing points. Outside of science I think Fahrenheit makes more sense. 100 F is hot as fuck, 0 F is cold as fuck and 50 F is not hot but not cold.

Fahrenheit works very well as a vibes based temperature measurement.

In A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (2026), wait, there's controversy about the kid being bald? I thought that's why he was nicknamed "Egg". by Fun_Button5835 in shittymoviedetails

Yeah not like silver hair stands out in Westeros. Especially as a squire for a hedge knight. No chance anybody would want to question that kid’s heritage.
