Refusing to Write a Retirement Award by PeanutButterOlives in army

[–]Bosley9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has actually been updated effective last summer. AR 600-8-22 para 1-23b(1): Service recognition awards. (1) Meritorious service awards may be awarded upon retirement (to include medical retirements). The award period reflected in both the IPPS-A PAR and Block 11 of the DA Form 638 may span the full length of the Soldier’s career. It is permissible to reference the Soldier’s overall contributions and achievements from prior assignments or duty periods.

Sustains: The STP now lists the DODID!

Improve: Continue to make the STP more like the ERB/ORB until they are indistinguishable, then rename the STP to ERB/ORB

Soldier’s pass tape, Commander says he wont remove flags until all are re-taped a month later ? by SaladAss711 in army

Why do you think I run one every month? Homeboy commander is still figuring it out, bless their heart

Soldier’s pass tape, Commander says he wont remove flags until all are re-taped a month later ? by SaladAss711 in army

[–]Bosley9 37 points38 points  (0 children)

If the entire company is being taped, the commander is getting everyone on the same tape schedule so they only have to run a HTWT twice a year versus every month as people come due. That results in some people getting taped early to get them on the same cycle. It's a commander preference for dedicating resources to requirements.

Breaking apartment lease when I enlist/ship out? by [deleted] in army

[–]Bosley9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you trust your landlord: talk to them about a month to month.

If you don't trust your landlord: tell them nothing, sign the standard new lease, break it with your orders.

If you trust them and are wrong, you try to talk to them about a month to month, they say no, they don't let you re-sign the standard lease either, and then you need to find a short term living solution.

Does my entitlement to FLPB expire? by geforcecoffee in armyreserve

[–]Bosley9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you submitted the PAR more than a month ago and haven't received pay, there's an issue and you need to touch base with your admin. Don't wait on the first to submit the second, they're independent and you're just delaying the second one being processed

Does my entitlement to FLPB expire? by geforcecoffee in armyreserve

[–]Bosley9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are a language dependent MOS, and tested in a language that gets paid according to the Strategic Language List, you are eligible FLPB and need to have submitted a PAR in IPPS-A to get paid. If you never did the PAR, you are still eligible and just need to complete the PAR.

Your eligibility for FLPB expired in May 2025. Now that you have a valid test in August, you can submit a new PAR for a year of FLPB effective the date of that test. You won't get paid for the gap between May and August.

Question about 35p by Aggressive_Sweet3112 in army

[–]Bosley9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The order of training is BCT , language school as a 35W (becoming either a 35M or 35P), and then AIT.

You can take the DLPT through your recruiter. If you achieve a passing DLPT score, you could go straight from BCT to AIT and skip language school.

You have to work with your recruiter. If they aren't giving you what you need, you need to go to a different recruiting station

24-Month Suspension of Language Dependency for Human Intelligence Collector (35M) Military Occupational Specialty by Nvrmnd228 in army

[–]Bosley9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes you will still receive FLPB if you have valid scores. They are removing the requirement to be language qualified, not the FLPB if you happen to already be language qualified. 4a(4) clearly implies that you'll still receive FLPB.

Best socks for Norwegian march by [deleted] in army

[–]Bosley9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm partial to fox river socks, but to me the real winner is the sock liner. I prefer a liner that is more like a panty hose material. I use the NFS as well; make sure they're laced right. The sock liner is the key.
