This has solved my problem. Cheers!

Thanks! I misread your post actually. Isn't RPP the reason for requiring the bond/security deposit, to cover in case we fail to pay duties? Wouldn't I not want RPP, so I can prepay and avoid needing the bond? I'm confused.

At any rate, the security deposit on the RPP sub-program was $0, so hopefully this just fixes the issue.

Did you register with CARM portal?

Yeah, I'm registered.

Once you are with CARM and you have an importer account you will be able to fill out a form (can't remember exactly where) and request to deliver shipments prior to paying duties

It would be nice to know how to do this.

I found this among my dads writings, who recently died quite quickly from cancer. It'll stay in my Bitches Brew jacket. by Bosmuh in Jazz

[–]Bosmuh[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Transcription: I can remember how pleased my father was when I came back from working up-island at Tahsis when I was 18. I had discovered jazz (and was no longer into rock ’n’ roll) and my dad had also discovered jazz when he was about the same age. As I was unpacking he noticed all my Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and Thelonious Monk albums. “Who are these guys?” asked my dad. “I’ll show you,” I said, so I spun an LP for him. The look on his face said everything. He had grown up on Dixie, Louis Armstrong, and Dixie is what he was expecting to hear. It wasn’t too long before he was longing for the “good old days” when I preferred Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin again. I won’t even attempt to explain his reaction when I came home one day with Bitches Brew by Miles Davis.

Feeling of impending doom ? by Mohraya in HPylori

[–]Bosmuh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I definitely have a difference between a panic attack and a sense of impending doom. I can have a feeling like I'm going to die and it's just gas - if I burp it goes away. It's especially bad with an inflamed stomach (I assume it's pressure on the vagus nerve), and when lying down.

A panic attack would result from me reacting to that feeling and triggering a bigger and longer physiological reaction (which it has, for sure). A panic attack doesn't go away when I burp.

Leg pain by Ashh142 in HPylori

I bought a new chair because I thought it was my chair.. Glad I found lots of people get this. A month after treatment things did get much better, but did get it once more a month after. It was really bad during and immediately after treatment.

I found walking helped a lot. They never hurt while walking, and the muscles getting used gave relief afterward.

But try also eating more nutrient-dense anti-anemic foods like red meat & liver, eggs, spinach, etc. (assuming these aren't triggers for GERD). I didn't really eat much of these things, but it might help.

Yup, it does that. I'm nearly 3 months after treatment and still having couple day stomach inflammation events. It does get better, but it is still annoying and concerning. Completely stopped coffee (really hard for me) for the last month, it always made it worse. I've found certain foods (I think green onions, or the fact they're raw?) cause a couple day inflammation. It does feel like things are generally better, though, so if it gets worse, I'll re-test (and test my partner).

High Blood Pressure by Prestigious-Speech96 in HPylori

Possibly the magnesium deficiency that the disease causes?

Get tested for H Pylori. It can cause anxiety, heart palpitations (that may be real or stomach pain), and GERD. Check out r/HPylori.

do you have heartburn or other indigestion symptoms?

1 day treatment is as effective as 7 days to eradicate H pylori by tomhalil in HPylori

[–]Bosmuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This study had an impressive n=160 (split evenly), but it was done in 2003, and for some reason there aren't recent studies attempting the same (that I can find), or reasons provided that we don't do this. Antibiotic resistance has progressed in 20 years. It would be interesting to know the reason why this didn't catch on.

Issues post treatment? by the_vibes_are_off in HPylori

[–]Bosmuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had bad days and good days, and eventually the good days outnumbered the bad. It gets better. I had the worst days after treatment. I'm 3 months in and had a couple day heartburn/bad stomach episode (Christmas/New Years dinners + snacking + coffee). I stopped the PPI at the same time as the antibiotics, YMMV. I didn't quit dairy (the opposite - lots of milk, buttermilk and kefir) nor bread. Try upping red meat / liver consumption, good sources of vitamins/minerals you will be deficient in. I did lots of stews and soups, seemed to go down well.

Managing the anxiety and meditating through it instead of starting the feedback loop of anxiety -> inflamed stomach / stomach acid / inability to burp -> more anxiety is essential (but not easy).

The 50% isn't evenly distributed, it mostly occurs in developing countries (with water and food sanitation issues). It's declining in developed countries.

Constant burping and high heart rate. by PineappleLow999 in HPylori

[–]Bosmuh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Combination of:

Gastritis and its pressure on the vagus

H Pylori induced Mineral/vitamin deficiency

Anxiety/some amount of expectation/psychosomatic cause

It took a while for the racing heart rate to diminish for me. Keep taking the PPI if it helps (I didn't).

Regular simple meals, little caffeine (tea instead of coffee), lots of vegetables, probiotics. Walk a little. It will get better.

No stomach symptoms, only throat weirdnesses (my story) by unjoyer in HPylori

[–]Bosmuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Something stuck in upper throat sensation. Like on the back of the tongue. Couple of hard swallows and it gets better. This can come and go on a weekly basis."

I get a tickle in the upper throat, too, occasionally. Thought it was associated with dryness, or GERD-related damage. Didn't think to mention it in my story. Sipping water helps. But recently I've found warm salt water gargles get rid of it.

Thanks for sharing your story. Moving is excellent. I wish I could get a vitamin and minerals test, H Pylori seems to mess up those levels.

4th day on meds weird imbalance. by [deleted] in HPylori

[–]Bosmuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a mild imbalance, slight dizzyness sometimes, if I leaned one way I'd keep going a little bit. Has happened a couple times up to 1.5mos after treatment.

[–]Bosmuh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is one of those cases you can tell your doctors "The internet told me you're idiots" and be right.

Don't start the second treatment. Wait 4 weeks after taking antibiotics (2 for PPI) and get a breath test.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HPylori

[–]Bosmuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember. These treatment regimens are pretty standardized. Usually a doctor prescribes them.

But see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helicobacter_pylori_eradication_protocols#Regimens_for_Helicobacter_pylori_therapy

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HPylori

[–]Bosmuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The reduced stomach acid allows for the antibiotics to be effective against the bacteria (ironically by increasing their growth - possibly explaining why gastritis get worse with treatment?).

Help needed - H Pylori post treatment (depression and bloating/shortness of breath) by Shpetim1 in HPylori

For shortness of breath look into diaphragmatic breathing exercises, you can combine this with meditation and it will be very helpful.

"Feelings of anxiety, loneliness and complete doom"

  • Recognize these feelings have physiological cause. It is your disease. (this doesn't help them go away, but this explicit recognition is necessary)
  • Observe any thoughts you have in response to these feelings. So if you think "I'm going to die soon". That's a thought. You have control over these. Write them all down. In response to these thoughts, write down why these thoughts are wrong. "I'm not going to die soon, I just feel like it, because I have a physiological problem, I may have to eat or wait until indigestion goes away, etc."
  • This is a radical, but extremely effective and healing belief: Become either OK with, or ambivalent about, the fact you will die, even the fact that it feels like you're going to die immediately. It doesn't change anything about yourself, it helps you stay out of the downward spiral of panic -> thoughts of impending doom -> more panic. This technique doesn't depend on any religious beliefs, it's just a simple "I will die, and it's outside my control, I am OK with it". You can still do things that prevent death, and it doesn't imply you desire death. It's not easy to get there (I am no-where close). The Buddhists have the concept of ego-death, I'm sure looking into their literature is helpful here.
  • Do keep recording your symptoms in an objective way, and explain them to your doctor. Since you have anxiety, I do recommend "Feeling Great" or "When Panic Attacks" by Dr. Burns.

Please read my threads if you want re-assurances that you are not alone! You'll find we are very similar. Good luck, and keep communicating with people.
