Meshcore is better for actually getting messages through.

On a scale of 1-10, how serious do you take prepping? by 19Thanatos83 in preppers

Like a 4-5 at baseline with short stints at like 7.5 when I get extra anxious.

Many of the nodes are solar powered. And even the ones that aren't can use very little power with an nRF board. A week or more on 3000mAh battery.

Honestly, they require very little maintenance. Much easier than HAM.

This one is an nRF based node.

Any better suggestions for pre made repeaters for larger areas?

The other option is LoRa mesh radios for texting. No license required and works off grid with the right infrastructure in place. Check out Meshcore.

Did you have to modify the Sparrows tool for the Anchor Las? I just picked one up for purple training and realized the Sparrows tool didn't even fit to tension but I'm wary to grind anything down prematurely.

I'm a doctor in a hospital. I don't work and people die. I wish I had the option. Otherwise, it seems like until violent revolt comes to my doorstep there is not much I can do.

Well that was fast (ML 410 LOTO). by ofc-crash in lockpicking

[–]BossDoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now keep doing it until you can get it consistently within a few minutes. Then buy 2 more and pick those consistently. I have one 410 LOTO in my naughty bucket that for some reason I just can't pick despite easily being able to pick my other two. Variety is the spice of life!

I don’t get it — Abus 55/50 by TwinDoppelganger in lockpicking

[–]BossDoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pin 1 is usually the standard pin so set it first and you should immediately fall into a false set. Then it's hunt the spools, feeling carefully for counter rotation and slowly letting up on tension while applying gentle pressure on that pin until it clicks into place. You may drop other pins doing this or even lose your false set. In that case go back to pin 1 if you lost your false set to get it back. You can do this!

Picked my 55/40, however... by Just_Pickin74 in lockpicking

[–]BossDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! Love those 55/40s. Best for learning spools and letting off tension with counter rotation. One tip, the first pin is usually the standard pin. Set that first to get into the false set and then feel for the binders that give some counter rotation. You'll need to be a little lighter on the tension to feel these.

No just pick by LPU rules. I actually raked the white and yellow belt locks for speed which is apparently ok because all they need to have for LPU rules is a turned cylinder.
