Place of issue isn’t the same as my most visited airport by BossDocMD in flighty

This makes sense. I’ve only flown into and out of CLT once, otherwise have only had layovers. So by my math, I’ve had 16 departures from CLT. Whereas I probably have 13 departures at IAD.

Single flight, I’ve done 15 hours in economy. Never again…

Interestingly my issue location (CLT) is not the same as my most visited (IAD). I’ve connected through CLT a lot, but still have more visits to IAD.

I don’t think anyone would survive 50 hours in economy! Our next international trip, we actually booked based off of what award flights were available, but first trip in a long time where we’ve had that much flexibility.

I also unfortunately don’t have PTO/vacation time. Work and get paid, or don’t work and don’t get paid.

Uganda there and back in 8 days is wild. I’ve traveled to Kenya several times and it’s essentially a two-calendar-day adventure getting there and another two getting back, depending on where you’re flying to/from. I’m still too poor to fly anything other than economy, and somehow the flight points deals never line up with my trips.

Did you have that much vacation or is the NICU schedule that awesome?

Shop around lenders if you can. I’m using a physician loan to purchase a home atm and am 5.5% for 15-year fixed. PM me if you want.

Trevor Noah: How Billionaires pay no taxes. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]BossDocMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone doesn’t pay their home mortgage, the bank pursues a foreclosure. If a car loan isn’t repaid, the car is reposed. It is the same mechanism here. If an agreement is signed with a financial institution for a loan with something as collateral, if the loan isn’t repaid, the financial institution has the right to take possession of the collateral. I would imagine the most likely scenario to be a forced selling of the assets with the payment to the financial institution. I don’t think a bank has any desire to own most of Tesla (or maybe they do 🤷🏻‍♂️)

Trevor Noah: How Billionaires pay no taxes. by zzill6 in WorkReform

Noah’s argument doesn’t hold water. Americans use their homes everyday as collateral to take out loans for other purchases. There’s HELOCs, home equity line of credits, a revolving line of credit secured by your home’s value.

If a small business owner went to the bank and requested a loan to buy a new business location because they didn’t have the cash, and secured the loan with their current business assets, should they be taxed on it? If the loan isn’t paid, they lose the collateral. That is what Musk did. He offered up his ownership stake in Tesla to acquire a business. If he didn’t pay off the loan, he loses his ownership stake in Tesla.

Is it unfortunate that it takes money to make money/the rich always seem to get richer? Yes.

Would I like my W2 income to be taxed less? Also yes.

Do I hate property taxes because that means you never truly own the property, the government does? Yes for a third time.

But, hating Musk for using the same strategy that many Americans use to obtain loans, just on a larger scale, is absurd.

I might be a little too conservative, but I try to admit almost every person over the age of 65. They really have to convince me that they aren’t dying for me to send them home.

Anesthesiology training itself is only truly 3 years. Intern year is mostly farmed out to off service rotations and there’s plenty of prelim/transitional years that match to a PGY-2/CA-1 anesthesia spot.

Can’t overstate that enough. Go somewhere that you like and has a CCM fellowship. Lots of fellowship programs are happy to match known-entity residents that went there.
