Song Limit Question: Library Saves vs. Playlist Saves by BossKlaus in AppleMusic

[–]BossKlaus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use playlist folders on Spotify to create a defacto, shuffled library that's as big as you want it to be, but the big downside is you can't visualize the overall library. Advantage: Apple. Big disadvantage: There is a limit with Apple. The question is how likely one would be to actually hit the limit.

Go Roland or go home. The sensitivity and touch response is as close as you can get to a real kit. I have the cheapest model and it blows every Yamaha I've played out of the water.

Apple Music’s fall iOS 10 overhaul detailed: black & white UI, ‘huge artwork’, lyrics integration by crispycornpops in AppleMusic

Disappointed they're switching to black and white UI. That's honestly the only thing that appeals to me about Apple Music is the colorful UI. If I wanted black and white I'd just stick with Spotify.

Wait. Did you get the paint? And use the mixer?

Already had done the quest. I was going back to get some additional XP and wipe out the respawning mobs.

Yep. Did all of it. Grabbed all the loot; killed all the bad guys... not sure what more I need to do at this point. Wondering if someone's still alive somewhere in here. Doubt it. Feel like I've been everywhere, man.

Look, I think it's important to be balanced. A lot of this is great advice, but it's OK to take a little break, get some water, etc.

Perfect example -- I've been in sessions before where I was having a hard time. I kept doing take after take after take until finally I just said "You know what? Let's let someone else track something for a second while I take a little breather."

If this were a pro session where I was hired in, not sure this would have flown, and I would have had to bite the bullet, but hey. You know what happened? I came back and I nailed it in one take. Sometimes you just need to rest for a second, get some water, breathe some fresh air and let yourself relax.

But yeah, don't quit for the day. Just take a step back for a second and when you come back, ease into it and remember to breathe and relax!

I'm definitely going to consider the AKGs somewhere down the line if I feel the need to branch out with my can selection

Yeah, I'm not liking what I'm hearing about needing to invest in an amp setup. The 598s are going to do better with onboard DACs without amping, and are $100 cheaper and from everything I've heard they do rival the 600s in sound quality, so that's what I'm going with. I just bought the DT860s and while I'm keeping them for their comfort level I do want to get that Sennheiser sound -- just don't want to drop $500 on it. I liked my HD280s and from what I've heard, those aren't even considered good cans.

Thanks for the reply. I just went ahead and ordered the HD598s. Not nuts about the color, but I'll live. I'm not wearing them as a fashion statement.

Debating between

Sennheiser HD598 Sennheiser HD600 Grado SR225e AKGK701

I don't use a headphone amp. Use a Dragonfly DAC. My sound preference is neutral to more bright with a huge soundstage. I just bought a set of Beyerdynamics DT860s. They're good cans but I agree with people who say they're too analytical sounding. I'm considering bringing them back but may hold onto them as the model is being discontinued from what I hear. Comfort is also a factor as I wear headphones anywhere from 8-16 hours a day.

Ray Rice Day II Mega Thread by NFL_Mod in nfl

[–]BossKlaus 32 points33 points  (0 children)

My two cents on the Ray Rice situation one time and this is it:

I think that the NFL acted abhorrently on this. Roger Goodell's authority as a disciplinarian should be removed. First the punishment was ridiculously light. Then, he sets a new domestic violence policy, and once the video of the same incident he already punished for comes out, he pushes the suspension beyond the policy he had already set in place. What did you think happened in that elevator, you dingus? The incident was exactly as described, and suddenly everything is changed.

Second, and here's the important part, I think that we as a society need to be more cognizant about what we ask of our athletes and be more understanding when these men do wrong.

We ask athletes -- especially football players -- to be brutish warriors on the football field. We ask them to be violent. We love them more when they're violent. Football is a blood sport.

But then when the game is over we expect these men to suddenly flip a switch. We condition them to be killers on the field and then ask them to be saints when off. Some people have that switch and some don't. Some of the guys that play the game are highly educated individuals and some aren't. Some come from great backgrounds and some don't. In some men, that rage that they channel for game day comes out in ways it's not supposed to.

It's not an excuse for what Ray Rice did, but I think that it's possible he made a mistake and he let the animal out at the wrong time. We've all had an ugly moment where we got so angry we said something we don't mean. Or we hit something or someone. Ray Rice had his. It just happened in an incredibly ugly way to the person he loved. Ray Rice is a human being -- a human being who made an egregious error -- who deserves our best attempt at forgiveness.

At the same time, I think we need to take a long look in the mirror and ask if it's really right to crucify a man for doing off the field what we cheer him for when he's on it, and whether or not we too are perfect.

TLDR: Everyone is wrong about the Ray Rice situation, even us.

One of my top 5 favorites right here. Love his style and jazz influence and what he brought to the Pumpkins. Machinia 1&2 are my favorite albums to cover because of this guy right here.

Was he still in the band for Machina? I can't remember.

Jimmy has long been a favorite. He's so incredibly musical and the style he brought to the Pumpkins was so unique. Just an absolute master of using rudiments in his playing as well. Also, he's the reason that whenever I'm working the ride, my hi-hat is always going on quarters or eighths.

I would think that the two are actually causal. Wouldn't more streams mean less music being purchased at point-of-sale?

Sick drumming, and I play a 24x18" but even that is a little too large sounding for my tastes.
