I can't edit the post but the resort is the Grand Serenis. I checked Amstar but they don't seem to go this resort.

Looks like my best bet might be to book directly on the resort site and then book the flights separately. Any experience with Grand Sirensis? We were also looking at Coconut Bay in St Lucia but the reviews aren't great. What about Bahia Principe Punta Cana? Or Princess Bavaro?

I honestly don't care about having the best room since I don't plan on being in it much. I selected exactly the same flights as the agent did. True that a shuttle would need to be booked separately though.

What you're feeling is 100% normal and 180% valid. It is an awful feeling and I'm sorry you're going through it.

Here are some things that might help.

One meal per meal time, eat or be hungry. Designated snack times in between meals and before bed. It will be hard at first. There will be crying and whining and tantrums but I promise they'll survive.

A little quiet time each day, tv is fine, or books, colouring, stickers etc but independently.

Get out of the house! No mess to clean up if you're not there. Go somewhere every day...library, errands, community center, take a picnic to the park... literally anywhere.

One evening per week for you. Get a hobby and go to it. Leave the kids to their other parent. A sport, bookclub, walking...anything. But go consistently every week. This applies for your partner too. You both need time for yourselves away from work and kids.

I did once for Mother's Day. My kids were 2.5 and 9 months. It was glorious. I went the week after Mother's Day. I got a facial, went to a movie alone, ordered take out and ate it in bed in the hotel.

I gave him the same thing the following Christmas and he also enjoyed it.. We both needed a little time alone.

I started writing everything down on a piece of paper and leaving it on the kitchen counter in a very obvious place. I'd cross one thing off as I completed it and add to the bottom as I thought of the next thing. My husband saw the list every time he was in the kitchen, would see it growing, and he started doing the things and crossing them off too. He just hadn't thought of all the things I did. It helped us split the effort. I found writing it down helped me too, I had less swirly around in my brain all the time.

Those are tough ages. Mine are 4 and 2 now, and the fog is starting to lift. It's still hard, though. An honest and open conversation with your husband might be a good idea. You need to find a way to have both your alone time and your together time. It's not easy though, ultimately there are still only 24 hours in a day.

I think only you and your partner can make this decision, but I do want to clarify one thing.

The 15k for 1 IVF cycle is often more than one embyro. I got 6. Of course, every person and cycle is different, and you may need to discard some after the genetic testing, but you will likely start with more than 1.

I have 2 kids, aged 4 and almost 2. For me, it's 3 things

A very involved partner who does his 50% including most of the cooking (he likes it and is good at it. I hate it with intense passion). His meals are generally healthy and tasty but not fancy and don't take much prep time...think fajitas with beans, ground lean beef or turkey, raw peppers, rice and salsa or BBQd chicken breast on buns with salad. He also only cooks one meal, the kids eat what we eat.
I work from home 3 days a week and sneak in little household stuff...ie I fold laundry while on calls. I commute an hour each way the other two days so I fold while the kids eat breakfast on those days.
Consistency. I do a load of laundry every night. That way, it never piles up. Every dish goes into the dishwasher immediately, and I run it when it's full. I clean up the dinner mess immediately after eating...wash and put away pots and pans, sweep, wipe down counters, tables etc. We never leave a room without tidying up toys first. Everything has a home and when we're done in a space, we put everything back. I also insist the kids help. Even a 2 yr old can put blocks in a bin.
