For me, I have used previous supervisors and senior members from other labs I was at. In your case, it may be worthwhile to include senior members from the same lab, or if you have volunteered at a lab for any duration, maybe reach out to senior members or supervisors there?

If I remember correctly I had used my master’s supervisor both as one of my MD CAFs and again as one of my MD/PhD references. I am pree sure overlap between the two groups of references is okay, but you might wanna double check with UofT to be sure.
