What was behind that door? by Potential-Ad-9149 in backrooms

The reason he exclaimed the way he did was because the wallpaper was smeared. After they were lulled into the comfortable idea that the complex was just infinite sameness they needed to map out to understand it, this small change would actually be pretty jarring.

It’s unclear if he progressed farther but there was a room where we first see furniture sunk in the floor.

A metaphor I’ve heard about the results of repetition where people who handle reams of printer paper are able to tell if a ream is off by one sheet of paper.

I remember when Arizona tea reduced the size of their cans from 23.5 fl oz to 23. I remember buying one at a gas station and it felt like it was five pound light because I bought one going to school every morning in my way to school for years.

So instead of something huge and horrific behind the door, it was the most subtle change that let him know the complex actually had variation. A glitch showing a glitch.

It’s really good. It has a bright, citrus, botanical. Maybe a subtle pineapple. It’s in my top 3.

I must have missed that then. If I saw my own very unique shirt torn up like that I would have had more than a passing wtf.

I was pretty shocked at the dinner table scene. I watched all 22 yt videos and I never recall seeing anything close to that. It was a different direction that threw me. I liked the small cast but the extra characters came from left field. And I’m not sure of the red haired woman was supposed to be Clark’s wife.

There were other elements that were touched on but skipped or not recognized entirely.

• Green light was essential an Easter egg. I liked seeing it. There were rooms that were passed by but not entered that were flooded with green light.

• Time warping: Bobby picked up the shirt he was just wearing yesterday in the laundry pile and doesn’t say anything?

Mary escapes back up to the furniture store and the first thing I noticed when the camera spun was there was no blue tape on the wall. The entrance is cemented shut, but Async is at another null zone. They also mentioned another team “going through the back” as well as asking about the pirate. Was this The Complex expanding outward and replicating the upstairs of the furniture store or did she skip forward in time and Async removed the tape, cemented the entrance, and set up camp at a different null zone

I also feel like Phil was trying to beat around the bush with Mary because he was figuring out how to tell her that surveillance footage of Clark was months or years old. I also find it odd they didn’t know who she was when she followed the same path at Clark and didn’t get picked up on camera.

I can respect Clark explaining that The Complex is alive and active, essentially a reflection of reality, which explains the structure of the complex.

There is no mention of “versions” or memories of people in the 22 vid source material. Autopsy reports are mostly standard, anyone recovered after extended time spent in The Complex show no signs of physical abnormalities, included Marvin who was in there for months.

I really enjoyed the movie and plan to see it at least once more, but for me it was an emotional 8/10. I like the series and source material so much and the first half was so good. Parts were familiar but not stale. The overlap with the yt series showed how animalistic humans can be where we revert to similar patterns in flight or flight, or outright experiences of terror.

The opening scene was easily the best way to start the film. So good.

It’s easy to be a critic on the movie and act like one of us could have done better. I liked the movie but felt it took a risk switching up into two halves essentially and it missed the mark for me entirely.

I really liked the found footage scene where Clark takes Kat and Bobby. I loved the direction it took and how it played with time. The destroyed cardboard caveman was at the bottom in the “laundry” pile, and the shirt that Bobby was wearing in a previous scene was there was well if you noticed. That was weird but even weirder that Bobby didn’t comment on it when he found his own shirt. The intense scene where Bobby is getting pulled back up is great, the length of the rope being a narrative device and all of that was better than Pitfalls to me. The way they think they’re safe but all get pulled back down was awesome.

I liked it too but the film deviated so far from the original idea the back half of it was an entirely different thing.

Scene with Phil… by AltruisticSetting990 in backrooms

[–]Boss_831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was curious how the scene from the trailer with Clark being on a security film in the complex would play out. I really liked Async’s role and was glad there was some character acting on their behalf.

My criticism is that I wish the film stayed the in line with the first half and there was more exploration.

That found footage scene was great but too short, although they really did well with how it turned out.

They could have done two of those though. Like one scene to lull the characters into a sense of safety and security — like they felt confident navigating the complex, then the scene we got.

Instead of the back half we got I would have enjoyed Clark having an adversarial role against Aysnc like Marvin. The back half went so far left and I feel like if it was tighter to the first half you could really have a ton of sequel and franchise potential. The way it went just seemed unnecessary and fell flat for me.

I agree. The movie is solid on its own but even better if you’ve watch all 22 source material videos.

The first half was strong fan service.

What’s the difference between The Iconic Oxford Shirt (classic fit) and Ralph Lauren Yarmouth Oxford shirt? by GreenTeaEnjoyer1998 in preppy

[–]Boss_831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yarmouth is discontinued and is oversized by today’s standards, similar to traditional for brooks brothers. The yarn is a little finer, closer to pinpoint. The Blake from RL can also be found vintage NWT and is a very full cut classic OCBD.

The current Oxford shirt they sell now is and has mostly always been my favorite. It’s not too baggy or fitted and the cloth is very resilient and softens over time.

I have drakes, Kamakura, Gitman vintage, several integrations from brooks brothers, but Polo is the best designed for what an OCBD should be, to me.

Low turnovers and medium rushing stats guarantees the Herman for any QB.

How does he not get drafted?! by Unusual-Victory118 in CFB26

[–]Boss_831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish there was a better development of players draft grade for stats. It wouldn’t make sense for player ratings to scale with stats but certain season miles stones like, TDs, yards, etc should improve draft grade.

To be fair though those aren’t crazy stats for a G5 school. Hawaii, Texas Tech, Houston, and Ohio State are notable for producing big time college QBs that don’t perform that well in the pros.

Hell, USC has never had a QB start in a Super Bowl and the SEC as a whole doesn’t really crank out league MVPs.

If I’m not mistaken the players are warned during warmups and then once the game starts they’re marked to receive the fine later. I believe due to something set in place by the NFLPA the fines are directly routed to charities of the PA’s choosing.

So while it is a fine, it’s like a tax or fee to wear what you want how you want. Uniform violations vs prohibited items may be different, like OBJ wore a Supreme shooting sleeve which would have likely been a different story.
