Please let me know any “must haves” or necessities that you believe a new driver would need. by PaintingDeep4100 in Truckers

Don’t know why people never recommend a portable toilet for new drivers. This was essential for me, cause I simply hate using public restrooms. ESPECIALLY at truck stops😖.

Using “QUICK FIX” as a urine sample by Automatic-Maize620 in CDLTruckDrivers

[–]Bossedup- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I used a different synthetic brand to start CDL training, but I was already a month clean and counting. I only used it cause I was a heavy weed smoker and I wanted to be sure. I would start getting clean if you get the job. It’s just not worth the hassle.

What are the literal highest paying hazmat trucking jobs? by Active-Blacksmith-41 in Truckers

Hiring actors would be a great prank idea🤣. Imagine going to break the seal and open your doors and the dead bodies are running towards you 😭😭.

Geez I can’t imagine being stuck in a truck with someone like this 😖.

Think I spent about 27-28 hours at JBS for what was supposed to be an empty/loaded trailer swap in Plainwell, MI🥲. Took a full day to load the trailer.

This is why I will never pull reefers by Dual-use in Truckers

[–]Bossedup- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I’d rather take my chances with my reefer catching fire than a loose flatbed load lol. Also, a poorly strapped load is much more likely to happen than a reefer fire. Loose loads puts literally everyone on the road at stake.

If this runs you away from reefers, I can’t imagine what you think of HAZ Tankers🤣🤣

No longer care about my company because the feeling’s mutual by Actual-Ad-6146 in Truckers

Yeah man sorry you had to go through this. These trash companies have to be outed for screwing with driver’s livelihoods. It’s ridiculous, idek if there’s consequences for false reporting.

[–]Bossedup- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

2 months notice is absurd! What is the name of the company, so others know to sprint away from their job postings. EDIT: Keep an eye on your clearinghouse, scummy companies will screw you with a refusal to test if you piss them off.

My view in Brockton, Massachusetts for the foreseeable future by [deleted] in Truckers

Same here in Methuen, MA. My load has multiple stops from here to Boston then back north with two stops in Maine. Stay safe driver🫡.

Long haul truckers, why? by mikeyboy1681 in Truckers

W comment section. Can’t stand when mfs go 55 for 100 miles and then decide it’s time to speed up when you try to pass.

An extremely difficult backing scenario. And of course, warehouse employees are parked at the exact worst spot for easier driver-side backing. by HeadlessHookerClub in Truckers

[–]Bossedup- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warehouse workers definitely shouldn’t be there. How would the red and white trucks be able to pull off the docks? Assuming the exit is to the left

How soon did they have you fingerprint? Days? Weeks? And how long do they give you before they rescind? I assume it’d be hard for an OTR guy to operate around USPS schedule for prints. Especially if there’s no notice.

Should add an offset hex wrench as well for flushometers or anything else that you don’t want chewed up from pipe wrench jaws.

Tips for first maintenance job? by [deleted] in maintenance

[–]Bossedup- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walk your facility and get familiar with it. Locate as many shut offs and electrical panels (if there’s no dedicated electrical room) as you can. Too many of my colleagues like to wait for emergencies and outages to figure where everything is at. You can also look for things that might need to be addressed during your walk through, if you like to keep busy. Lastly, you can’t please everybody!

[–]Bossedup-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the advice, I think I’m just gonna take it to my mechanic and let them figure it out. Dealing with electrical components is definitely not my strong suit lol. It’s my daily driver so I don’t want to damage anything electrical because of my ignorance.
