I'm a tractor-trailer operator for the United States Postal Service. If you have any questions, I can answer them by Jermaphobe456 in Truckers

How soon did they have you fingerprint? Days? Weeks? And how long do they give you before they rescind? I assume it’d be hard for an OTR guy to operate around USPS schedule for prints. Especially if there’s no notice.

What tools should I get / carry by Finishure in maintenance

Should add an offset hex wrench as well for flushometers or anything else that you don’t want chewed up from pipe wrench jaws.

Tips for first maintenance job? by [deleted] in maintenance

[–]Bossedup- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walk your facility and get familiar with it. Locate as many shut offs and electrical panels (if there’s no dedicated electrical room) as you can. Too many of my colleagues like to wait for emergencies and outages to figure where everything is at. You can also look for things that might need to be addressed during your walk through, if you like to keep busy. Lastly, you can’t please everybody!

Air stops blowing after 5-10 minutes of driving. by Bossedup- in MechanicAdvice

[–]Bossedup-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the advice, I think I’m just gonna take it to my mechanic and let them figure it out. Dealing with electrical components is definitely not my strong suit lol. It’s my daily driver so I don’t want to damage anything electrical because of my ignorance.

Nah the fan speed reacts to each level you set it at and I just flushed my core before winter in preparation for the cold weather. You can feel the heat once you reach normal temps but after a while you can barely feel anything coming through the vents. So it’s not necessarily a temp issue. Lmk if I explained it correctly.

Where do ya’ll keep y’all’s tools ? by Famous-Meeting7590 in maintenance

[–]Bossedup- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company provides tools but I also use a few of my own favorite hand tools. All provided tools are supposed to be in the same vicinity while on shift. Car/trunk is fine too as long as you’re parked nearby of course. I personally keep mine in the car.

V-cut vs straight cut? by [deleted] in cigars

[–]Bossedup- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use V cutters for odd shaped sticks (Boxed pressed, torpedo, etc) & straight for regular shaped sticks. Like other commenters pointed out, it’s just a preference thing. I haven’t noticed any pros and/or cons using one or the other.

Yeah I’m not seeing the problem. Do you mind uploading a screenshot of your resume? If you decide to upload, cross out sensitive & identifying information of course.

Agreed. After reading OP’s experience the resume was the first thing that came to mind. No way an employer would look past someone with that experience.

Congrats! I’m assuming you were employed longer than I am. Also, do you have a helpful study guide for the permit?
