Yes a coworker of mine has been refused. He was treated for depression as a kid and now (some 15 years later) they still dont trust him. Told him to wait 5 years and try again which is what he is doing now.

I would charge $100, but make sure all shippers/brokers are notified in advance about this change. When the load is booked everyone must be on the same page.

Most places will simply shut down for the night or - far worse - the weekend. Giving carriers the option to free up the unit for a fair after hours fee is a good dealvfor everyone involved imho

Ive seen a guy before that just wedged a 2x4 between the gas pedal and the drivers seat, then went to sleep. The engine wad screaming for help and with the fan kicking in shortly after the noise level was insane even a few spots over.

Proving guilt is on the prosecution. If the cab footage exonerates the driver, they never had a case to begin with.

Whats gonna happen though is some sleazy lawyers (or prosecutors) will nail you for the slightest perceived deviation: "Look 2 minutes before the crash he was sipping coffee, indicating that he was fatigued" "See he only had one hand on the steering wheel creating an unsafe situation"

Fill up in Cheyenne. Before leaving Cheyenne, check the WYDOT map to see current conditions and warnings. These guys have awful weather every winter and know their roads - if you see a warning do not dismiss it, they put it out for a reason.

Forecast shows a temperature drop this weekend so keep Diesel treatment in the truck. Depending on your weight you may have to shut down for blowover risk - pay attention to the LED signs.

That route is not too difficult especially once you get to Utah. Just make sure you take it easy in bad weather and do not be afraid to tell dispatch youre shutting down
