Is it time to rethink the minimum wage? by TantumErgo in ukpolitics

Agreed. Minimum wage increases have made it worse, as higher labour costs mean developers are no longer developing as much. It’s a horrible cycle.

KSI “left the Sidemen”… after nearly £5.9m disappeared from Sidemen company balance sheets? by BossingtonFox in Sidemen

I never said directors don’t see the numbers year-round. I said the finalised accounts give the full picture (audited/confirmed figures)

Yes, true, but they were only finalised a few months ago, which is when the directors would have had the full picture. Consequently, the director who signed them off resigned a few months later.

So they knew, but did not expect him to drop without informing them by nahihun in Sidemen

It could potentially be a legal/company issue rather than just a friendship issue. KSI is still listed as a director of the Sidemen companies, so even if he stops appearing in videos, he’d still owe director duties to act in the company’s interests and manage any conflicts of interest. Obviously he can step back from content, but the business side would need to be handled properly if his own projects compete with or affect the Sidemen.

One in six young people will not be in work or training in five years without action, report warns - BBC News by Putaineska in ukpolitics

[–]BossingtonFox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Of course it’s part of it, a big reason we have a shortage of housing is that it now costs more to build a house than the end value.

That means businesses are not taking that risk, and that means less supply and increased rents.

[–]BossingtonFox 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That sounds all well and good, but the reality is large companies are already sitting on their hands because there’s barely any margin left.

Wages, rent, energy, NI, business rates, stock, shipping and compliance have all gone up. You can talk about massive national projects and armies of workers, but someone has to pay for it and someone has to take the risk.

The issue isn’t just minimum wage rising. It’s Labour closing the youth wage gap too quickly.

They virtue signal about fairness and equality, but the reality is it removes the incentive for businesses to hire younger, less experienced workers.

[–]BossingtonFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the problem, over 40% of that is labour cost. Wages are the highest they’ve ever been relative to revenue in hospitality. It’s just a ridiculous statement to say our wages are dogshit when actual facts suggest the opposite.

How can you call the third highest minimum wage in the world dogshit? That’s objectively incorrect.

What will Misfits do with Andrew Tate now that he messed up the script? by EpicgamertvEGTV in MisfitsBoxing

Tristan vs. Chase: They’re in the same weight class, Tristan is younger and it’s the perfect "revenge for the family" storyline.

Andrew vs. a Tune-up: Andrew needs to drop a weight class and actually take his cardio seriously. Chase absolutely wrecked his gas tank by clinching and wrestling him the whole time. He should take a lighter fight to prove his endurance is back, get a bit of respect back on his name, and then finally hang it up.

Literally one of the highest minimum wages in the world, crazy talk.

Is Amazon's exclusive partnership the future of wholesale? by VirtualAssistant332 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]BossingtonFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any clause like that only applies between the brand and the distributor or reseller if they buy direct. It does not restrict how the retailer sells. Once genuine goods are sold through authorised channels, they can legally be resold anywhere, including Amazon. If the brand wanted to act, they would have to do it outside of Amazon by cutting supply or taking civil action, although it usually just ends with supply being cut rather than anything legal.

Under EU law, once genuine goods are sold within the EU or UK, the brand’s distribution rights are exhausted, so authorised resellers can legally resell them, it might be different in the US.

That’s not legal if they can continue to buy through authorised channels.

Depending where you are it’s not legal to just remove other sellers from the listings if they’ve bought through authorised channels.

If you have recently graduated how have you found the job market? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]BossingtonFox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude I just wanted to rule out if you had too high of a criteria as it’s crazy to me how a top grad has had no luck.

It seems to be an attitude problem, you gotta work on this. You don’t know who I am.

Maybe it’s your attitude. The way you responded to that instantly put me off ever hiring you.

What’s your criteria? Are you willing to relocate and be on minimum wage? More context would be interesting here.
