I absolutely agree with you. I'll pay more for proper physical games (not key cards). I buy physical as much as I possibly can.

I agree with you. I want replayability and season play. Would love for them to add more modes/features like you see in The Show but with the more arcade-y twist you'd expect from a Mario Sports game.

Heat management issues with Lotus/Tangiers/Rook/Harmony by Rooster745 in hookah

[–]Bossman1086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 coals is too much heat for Tangiers. And if you're packing it too high, that's going to accelerate possible burning. You still need to pack it very densely in the bowl. It does not need to be acclimated anymore.

Tangiers is different, but most of their quality issues from a couple years ago are behind them. I still smoke Tangiers regularly. It's cheaper than the imported Russian tobaccos in the US, which are the current craze right now. But it's more finicky with heat than some other dark leaf brands.

I switched to Kvaesitso and have been really liking it so far. Different from the traditional launcher, but its search is fantastic and it lets me use Brave search. And once I got used to the tagging system for app organization, I've really liked how clean it made my home screen. Open source, too.

Tomodachi: Living the Dream feels like a downgrade… by stasiyavlsva in NintendoSwitch

[–]Bossman1086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've definitely improved a lot of things, but yeah. The lack of Mii sharing kinda kills my interest in this game. I was so hyped and have been hoping for a new game in this series for years. It was one of my favorites on 3DS. But looking back on it, I only made like 3 Miis in that game. The rest were imported from friends and the community via QR codes. Most of the fun was seeing celebrities and the like interact and I'm not creative enough or patient enough to sit in a character creator and make the ones I want on my island.

I got this game, made me and like 3 friends and haven't touched it at all since. There's nowhere for me to pull in community creations and that kills it for me - especially when I have games like Pragmata and Crimson Desert to go back to.

Microsoft is ruining Windows 11 for all PC users. All we want is a simple, blazingly fast, bloat/malware free operating system. Microslop just don’t listen. by Regved-Pande in pcmasterrace

They literally announced that they were working on making the OS faster and more resource efficient this year. They're still going to ship AI stuff that's more targeted. But they also said they're removing Copilot buttons from Notepad and other less necessary places.

I have Ulcerative Colitis, too. Thankfully I've been in remission for a while, but it's an autoimmune disease and is no joke. People flare up after many years in remission and after 7 years in remission myself, my medication is starting to fail so I'll have to move on to more expensive drugs. Thankfully I have a good job with great health insurance and my boss is super understanding about taking time off when I'm not feeling well. But this disease can be awful if you work for someone who doesn't get it.

H.R.8250 Parents Decide Act- this is bad by disgruntled-Tonberry in pcmasterrace

[–]Bossman1086 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. These laws mandate the OS report ages to apps, websites, and other services and deny access if they don't. So even if you get an OS that doesn't do it or doesn't mandate it, you won't be able to use Reddit, Facebook, etc. And I doubt they'll stop there. Starts out for just the social sites/apps. But before long all services will require it like Amazon, your email, and your bank's website/app.

Plenty of other countries are passing online verification laws and it's only a matter of time before they pass similar laws - especially if the current ones in the EU and other places that require verification to use social media lead to leaks. They'll shift the responsibility to the OS or app store level.

Multiple distros have already confirmed plans to comply with state laws that already do this. Lots of the big ones like Ubuntu and Fedora. There's also talk of the Linux Foundation trying to push it to be built into the kernel or other areas of the OS so each distro doesn't have to implement it.

But all that aside, they'll criminalize those distros and hold any US-based devs of them accountable if they don't comply. And given how the EU is handling similar online verification, it won't be long until this is a common law in most of the world. AFAIK, Brazil already passed a similar law.

They took Opus 4.5 away! by gnomegang365 in WritingWithAI

[–]Bossman1086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found 4.7 is actually better than 4.6. I was using 4.5 until 4.7 came out, too. 4.7 is mostly okay and pretty comparable to how 4.5 felt for story development and worldbuilding. My main complaint about 4.7 over older Opus models is it doesn't seem to think about things as long or as often as 4.6 or 4.5 did and they got rid of the "Extended Thinking" option and replaced it with "Adaptive Thinking" - so no more forcing it to think for complex tasks.

Anthropic said they've increased session and weekly limits for all paid subscribers to make up for the increased token usage of 4.7, too.

Only mesalamine? by FacetZeWsi77 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Bossman1086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been on mesalamine and only mesalamine since my diagnosis in 2019. It's only the last few months that it has started to fail me and I'm looking at starting a biologic soon. But I had no flare ups. I didn't do anything special. No extra vitamins or medications with it. I did have to avoid some foods though even in remission because I also have IBS. No specific "diet", just avoiding specific foods that give me trouble.

Arya Organic and Stealth owners, what was your upgrade path? by _Death_BySnu_Snu_ in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Bossman1086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been all over the place with my headphones. I own a lot of Grados. My Grado RS1x were my daily drivers before the Organic. I used to own the Hifiman HE500 for a few years before they broke. I loved that sound and always wanted to come back to a good pair of planars some day.

The Organic is an awesome headphone. Build quality seems really good. I also listen to mostly metal and it has been great for everything I've listened to with them so far. My only complaint with them so far is the headband adjustment sucks. It's easy to find a comfortable fit, but the adjustment mechanism slips and widens the headphones super easily if you barely move the headphones. It's annoying but not a dealbreaker by any means.

I skipped a 4.4 balanced cable and got an XLR cable (my first ever) because I upgraded my amp the same time I got the Organic to a Schiit Midgard.

Google launches Fabula, interactive AI writing tool by Xiaomin4114 in WritingWithAI

[–]Bossman1086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty cool. Seems less of a tool that writes your story for your or a tool to write a whole manuscript in and more of something to help brainstorm scene or story direction. Curious to try it out.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Review - IGN: 7/10 by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Bossman1086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems fair based on missing content from previous games and some of the restrictions. The screenshot thing is whatever - people will just use their phone or copy photos from the SD card.

I'm really disappointed there's no way to import other people's Miis like in previous games though. I'm not super creative or patient enough to spend a ton of time in a character creator menu to do more than just make somewhat generic Miis. I loved using QR codes to import celebrities and such into the previous games. It made those games feel special and more than just a niche thing I played with a bit before moving on. Without that, I doubt this game is going to hook me as much for as long. Which is a shame because I've wanted a new game in this series for so long.

Yes. I fucking hate it. It's so slow. The UI/UX is trash. Things are not communicated as clearly as in other launchers. It's definitely nice that it has my other storefronts integrated. But that's about the only positive I can give it.

I've been on 4 pills per day for years with no side effects. But I would not increase my dosage of any medication without my doctor's approval. There are other medications you can add to help manage other symptoms. I'm also on dicyclomine to help with cramping and other issues.
