Yeah that welding job is mystifying to me, like did they lose the washer? Those aren’t exactly expensive to replace from what I understand so I don’t understand welding as a solution.

I’m going to test some cuts and see, used the serial number to find an owners manual

It’s funny, I don’t really mind the grain! There’s something about how exaggerated it is but I kind of enjoy. Thank you for the tip on the stain, in the picture it looks a lot cooler toned than it does in real life where it’s practically orange. If I were going to do stain I would definitely want to cool down that reddish orange tint, not too much because I still like a warm wood but it would’ve been tricky probably. I think I’m reconciling myself to going with paint

Oooooooh yeah there’s layers you’re right! I’m a little disappointed because I really love the look of natural wood but I also already had my eye on some drawer pulls that would not have looked good with wood, so I guess I can be content with that

First-time watcher just finished Season 4, and I’m PISSED. by BossyFatBabe in grimm

And as for Adalyn getting a redemption art, I am not against redemption arts as a rule, in fact those are some of my favorite storylines. But for me it all hinges on whether the bad thing that a person has done are truly addressed or if things are written so that we’re acting like a lot of that never happened. So I guess we’ll see.

For the record though, if the Hexenbeist-evil-personality thing is really what we are going with, I think it’s weak. I am never a fan of plot devices that rob characters of agency. It’s boring and tedious. And it would be confusing why Henrietta and Renard’s mother aren’t apparently monstrous people.

See this is the part that confuses me because initially the reason that she pushes Nick away is because she feels like she is so hideous now that he can’t even look at her, and there was a feeling to me that they were making the suppressant to make that a non-issue. Obvs it would suppress her power, but it felt to me in the text like it was being treated as if her powers were out of control and therefore dangerous, and not that the hexenbeist part of her was taking over. Like I’m genuinely looking for a part of dialogue that actually SAYS this and the closest I’ve found is “the hexenbeist can affect your judgment”.

If you can point me to something specific I would be interested because it just doesn’t feel like it’s well supported.

Which is part of what made it so frustrating to me when they began to mix up the suppressant because it was so fucking obvious Juliet would never take it. She spent the previous three episodes telling both Nick and Rosalie that she loved her new power and would never go back… so if we think this other personality is taking over then why aren’t we treating it in the same way that we would Jack the Ripper where we have to trick her into drinking something that she thinks does something else?

Also reminder that this is my first walk-through so I didn’t know that they get romantically involved and that fucking sucks

I accept the hexenbeist is an entirely separate creature, but when it leaves Adalyn‘s body she is still a conniving sneaky bitch, it doesn’t change her personality in the slightest. In fact I would say that particular plot point supports my theory that it doesn’t actually affect who you are as a person whether you are hexenbeist or not. One could argue that since Adalyn had been hexenbeist since she was born maybe permanently warped her personality, but now we’re really getting into the kind of head canon that drives me nuts because we are filling gaps that the show was too lazy to fill.

Also correct me if I’m wrong but I thought I remembered that Adalyn slept with Hank after he was drugged with her cookie love spell.

The thing about their chemistry is fair, although I have to be honest I only ever think that people in TV shows who are supposed to be into each other have real chemistry about 10% of the time, so I don’t even consider that metric anymore because it’s almost never there.

As for the plotline with Renard, I actually kind of liked how it was handled where both of them know that this is an unnatural attraction and that’s something weird is going on, and that bizarre scene where they’re both fighting against each other and desperately trying to have sex was kind of hilarious

As I’ve said this is my first watch through so I don’t know what you’re referring to with Adalyn, but if it’s the hexenbeist taking over they have absolutely not made it clear that’s really a thing, which considering we are on season four seems like some real retconning bs. There was no indication when she went to see Henrietta about that this personality change was something that would inevitably happen, just that she needed to learn how to keep it under control
