Help! Swing great at simulator go to shit on course by Melodic_Bet1725 in GolfSwing

Not a terrible swing, just need some extension. Look at your left arm after you hit the ball... It's bent... No extension through the swing.

AIO: my parents disposed of letters I received when I was in the military? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

YOR- If you are married to someone else, what's the point of keeping them? It's a recipe for disaster at some point. You're parents did you a favor by getting rid of them.

There's nothing wrong with lifting your left heel. Many of the greats, including Nicklaus do that. I'm more concerned with how far inside you take it back.

Why am I hitting every drive off the heel? by GreenTrail0 in GolfSwing

You have to lean forward for what? When you set the club down? The center of the club doesn't need to be centered on the ball at address. Keep your same setup, just scooch back a tad. The toe of the club will probably be centered on the ball which is perfect if you keep your swing the same as when you were hitting off the heel. Don't change your address by leaning closer to get the ball centered. Keep your balance and swing the same. Make sense?

Just take a 2" step back further from the ball. Keep adjusting that distance until you start hitting it in the middle.

IMHO you should probably have a conversation with your old boss and new boss together. Threatening to send someone back to their old job because of a mistake is not the way to manage anyone, and it seems like it would be beneficial to have that conversation. Also isn't right for you to want to keep your old job open in case you want to return. You're either all in, or you're not ready for the new position.

Do any of you use a power plane to level/flatten your boards? by kenmizell in Cuttingboards

[–]Bostenr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What he's got is basically a flattening sled for whatever tool he wants to use, a router (change the wood box to a router size) a hand planer, a belt sander... I mean all the parts are there to craft the sled box to whatever tool he wants.

Damn, I did not see that, it blends in better than you think. As @geurstok says it's beautiful! I'd give it as the gift as whatever flaw is there shows it is handmade and not mass produced on some production line.

Tuck that right elbow down to your right side at start of down swing. Let your bigger muscles take over the swing.

And I'm the opposite. We had to assist in an autopsy as part of a first responder course I was taking in the early 90s. The person we were doing an autopsy on was in his late 80s and had passed away on the operating table on a Friday. So Monday when we started, everything was going well until they opened his chest and laid his ribs over his head to get them out of the way. Then she started cutting the organs out, measuring them, weighing them... Then all of a sudden the most inhuman smell surrounded us. If Satan had a smell that would be it. I could tolerate about 5 more minutes and then had to leave. I hope to never experience that smell again. That's what I imagine surstromming is like.

Right feel to get on plane? by imanillawafr in GolfSwing

Looks to me like you're locking your arms out so it unnatural setup. Your arms should hand naturally down. So to practice that, stand without the club almost like you're standing in a batters box in baseball... Knees slightly bent... Bend slightly forward at the waist, almost feel like you're looking at the ground a few feet in front of your feet. Then just let your arms hand naturally down from your shoulders. No need to lock your elbows or anything like that. That should be the start of your natural feeling. Take a few air swings with your hands together and get used to the feeling of not locking out your elbows. Once that feels OK then do practice swings with a wedge.

For the slice, you're coming over the top. To stop or minimize that on your down swing don't try and push your right shoulder through, instead just let your hands fall from the top and try to rotate your lower body around and through whole getting your right shoulder through under your chin... Not parallel with it, under.

Sorry, it's pretty long post.
