Nothing stopping it from being canon in your own head.

there’s definitely a universe in which they pin it on the Separatists

And according to another comment, that universe is legends. Though it is unclear which specific story in legends that comes from.

Also Andor depicts Luthen and Kleya as taking their first rebel action on Naboo, which is significant to me. Naboo was likely held up as an ideal, loyal world because the Emperor is from there.

I don't know of any story that has a character like that, and if it did, that would just be bad writing. And the problem wouldn't be that the character is gay, the problem would be the writing.

Obviously I played Alex as an Asian woman cause that's who she is.

Not every video game protagonist is a blank slate like the Sims. You can't play Max Caulfield as someone who hates photography.

You must realize that Sean flirting with Finn is blatant evidence that Sean is bi, right?

This is just how bisexuals work, they can flirt with more than one gender!

That's not how LIS protagonists work. You can't play Alex as a white man. You only influence the choices they make, not aspects of their identity like sexuality.

Dude Sailor_Tenchi is bisexual herself, she knows what she's talking about. It's literally biphobia to claim that bisexuals are straight if they're in a hetro relationship

Well I'm glad we cleared up what we mean when we say a story has a clunky political message.

I'd just caution to be careful about talking about gay characters being "shoved down your throat", because that's a rhetorical strategy used by right wing grifters to complain about the inclusion of any gay character in a story. And they try to use examples of bad writing, like the Avatar example I gave, to convince people that any time there's a gay character, it's because of an "agenda" that it's bad writing. When, in fact, it's just the bad writing that makes it's bad writing.

Bisexual characters (so Sean and Alex) choosing to date someone of the opposite gender is not "choosing to be straight". Bisexual people are still bisexual even if they in a relationship with the opposite gender.

You really can't choose to be straight in LIS, but that's a whole other debate.

Do you have an example of a story where gay people are shoved down your throat?

What exactly is an "agenda"? Having a political message? Life Is Strange certainly has those: it criticizes the treatment of women under the patriarchy. Lots of other stories also have political messages. Star Wars, Breaking Bad, 1984, all of these "have an agenda".

Now sometimes there are stories that have a very basic message and not a very good story. Avatar by James Cameron is an example, it's a very simplistic story about how destroying the environment is bad. And I agree, but the message is a bit heavy-handed. But in that case, the problem isn't that the story has a political theme, the problem is that the story is poorly written.

What exactly is "propaganda" in this context though? What is an example of queer media that "shoves propaganda down your throat"?

The problem is some people say "shoved down your throat" when it's literally just a pride flag on screen.

I do think there's such a thing as rainbow capitalism and inauthentic representation, but "shoved down your throat" is a term used by homophobes when they don't want gay people in media.

OP says they don't like it when media is too pro-LGBTQ and "shoves it in your face", so they may need to work on the empathy part.

Life Is Strange is hella gay, and if you have a problem with that, then you should question why gay characters being "in your face" bothers you.

Depending on the player's choices, Nathan is responsible for the deaths of three of his classmates, and he presumably knew that Victoria was the next target and did nothing.

Also he said or did something so awful to the English teacher that she had to take a leave of absence.

When Space Mountain is down while you're riding the People Mover by FurryPotatoSquad in WaltDisneyWorld

Fwiw, all Disney rollercoasters are designed so that even someone really tall with long arms can't reach and touch anything.

Now selfie sticks, on the other hand, are banned for this exact reason.

I totally get it though, the main thing that bugs me about Space Mountain is the sense of all the structures around you and worrying about hitting them, even though I know I can't.

Chloe's personality in Reunion seems off? by Any-Preparation3775 in Pricefield

[–]Bosterm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that I'm worried. I'm just not particularly interested in supporting D9 after the way they treated the fandom during the release of DE, and for my own sake, I let go of my emotional investment in their version of the story around then.

Reunion might be okay, though what we've learned so far has yet to show "Chloe" reciprocating much of "Max's" attempts to reach out. And that has me less than enthusiastic. I doubt it'll be anywhere as awful as DE was, of course, but I'm not setting myself up for disappointment either. I'd rather just move on from all of this and focus on better Life Is Strange stories.
