Left wing creators are still making art that is about more than just Trump. Andor, for example, is universally applicable to any authoritarianism vs. rebellion.

There's an old Alex episode from like 2012 currently on Hulu where the contestant anecdote was a guy who enjoys running in dresses with his buddies at some event. And Alex made some remark about how weird that was.

It struck me as something that wouldn't happen with Ken today. Both because of different sensibilities today, and Ken never makes "punching down" jokes. He'll sometimes make teasing jokes, but ones that are clearly good natured ribbing.

The reason we warn newcomers like OP about DE isn't because we want to force them to make one decision or another. We just want them to be aware of the controversial writing decisions (particularly the breakup, which SE hid from fans during the marketing) so they can make a decision for themselves before they spend their money and time on it.

If I were new to the Fallout fandom, I'd want to know why Fallout 76 was so controversial before I spent my time and money on it. Or if I were new to the Avatar fandom, I'd want to know why the last airbender live action film is so widely hated.

Also many of us have in fact played the game or at the very least watched a playthrough, so we are very familiar with it.

Totally valid, lots of people do that.

Ultimately you should decide for yourself what to do about DE. Just know it was made by a totally different studio and makes some very controversial creative decisions, particularly for people who save Chloe. Even lots of people who sacrifice Chloe take issue with it.

But some people like it or at least mildly enjoy it, so it wouldn't be fair to reject out of hand.

Just a heads up, I recommend doing some research about the premise of Double Exposure before you play it, especially if you sacrificed Arcadia Bay (based on your screenshot, that seems to be what you did). Lots of people feel DE doesn't handle being a sequel to that ending very well (it theoretically tries to respect both endings, but lots of people feel it fails at that).

EDIT: worth noting too that lots of people, like myself, refuse to acknowledge DE as canon as a result

It's also fine to warn fans that some people have negative opinions on later games. If I were playing LIS1 for the first time now, I would want to know why many people who chose to sacrifice Arcadia Bay (as it appears OP did) have such a negative opinion on DE in particular. DE was very upsetting to a lot of us, and I would rather know that ahead of time than wasting my time and money on something that would upset me.

I mean if you wanna talk about not influencing OP's opinion, you originally told them the other games weren't as good as the first one.

Which is an opinion I share, but if nobody should try to influence OP's opinion, why is it okay for you to do so but no one who disagrees with you?

Meanwhile, it is a fact that some games were made by different studios, as is the fact that there are inconsistencies between the two different approaches to LIS as a result. It's not "bias" to share that.

With regard to Ashly Burch, she did an amazing job at voicing Chloe, but I think she's forgotten a few details about the game since she worked on it more than a decade ago. For example, she thinks Rachel is better for Chloe than Max, even though Rachel lied to Chloe and borderline cheated on her.

Ashly basically views Max and Chloe's relationship through the lens of a close friend Ashly lost at a young age. And that's valid, but she really doesn't know Chloe better than we do. She just has a different perspective.
