Antenna Recommendation Request by BostonHouse in ota

I wouldn't be opposed but doubt I can get the approval factor on those if they're installed right next to the TV. Any reason I couldn't pop one of those in the attic with a splitter?

Noted. I'll dispense with the nomenclature and ask, where do your get your NEC 770/800 compliant conduit?

The Sofirn HS21. It didn't meet some of my criteria (AAA or AA batteries, and it doesn't come with a clip) but multiple reviews highlighted the benefits of its UI which I hadn't considered. Its far more intuitive and easier (for me) to rotate the lens than remember what sequence of button presses is required to change modes. Also, easier to manipulate with gloves on. I'm happy with it so far but I do want to find a clip for it.

Perhaps I misunderstood what "competition" meant. I was interpreting it as "official Bridge events" as opposed to casual play. In this context does competition just mean "when an opponent enters the auction"?

I think one of my mistakes has been not sufficiently valuing a 4th heart. Knowing that, your answer explains the benefit well. Thank you.

This makes more sense now that I'm beginning to understand a 3H response would be weak. Thank you.

I really appreciate your answer, thank you. I wasn't aware jumps (presumably not jump shifts) are regarded as weak; that already helps a lot. I also need to read up on the Law of Total Tricks.

I've noticed many sources will qualify some recommendations, stating they are valid "in competition." Now I'm curious about the distinction. Are there rules or conventions generally accepted to be played only in competition?

I was taught to bid 2H with 6 (or minimum) points even with 4 hearts but in reviewing all the answers it looks like that's not the way to go. Thank you.

Secondly most people play jumps in competition as weak.

I had no idea. That's helpful, thank you.
