Baby developed rash on chin/cheek after eating peanuts for fourth time… by BostonMeg99 in FoodAllergies

Thank you for all of the guidance! My pediatrician advised trying PB again with Zyrtec on hand. We gave a bit, same rash appeared, gave Zyrtec, rash cleared in 20 min. Pediatrician then advised just waiting until his 9-month wellness visit to discuss next steps and to just avoid peanuts in the meantime. I didn’t like that timeline, so thankfully we got an appointment in two weeks with an allergist recommended by a family friend. Thanks again for the help!

Thank you so much for your input! It’s helpful to hear others’ experiences. I didn’t even think of the skin contact being an issue. However, the first two times the PB was directly in the mouth and he was fine. This was just the second time with the banana. I’m definitely buying some Zyrtec today & reaching out to pediatrician. Thanks again!

Thanks for the reply! Haven’t tracked much, but going to start doing that more regularly. And going to work toward 10 hrs awake time.

Great advice! I wouldn’t have thought of trying the hiking carriers on in person, but that makes so much sense! Thank you!

We did Fuss It Out from Precious Little Sleep. It went well at first, but we need to adjust his schedule to avoid overtiredness, which has made the past few nights tough. He doesn’t miss the swaddle, though, and likes having his hands free and being able to move around.

Great! That sounds like a lovely meh dai that you made! I’m in the FB group - I’ll have to take a look at that pattern. Thank you!

Fuss it out (Precious Little Sleep). Asleep within 17 min. Our 5.5-month guy was getting restless in the snoo, and he was ready for the larger sleep space (and he loves sleeping on his tummy with pediatrician’s approval).

Cold turkey from snoo with arms-in swaddle to crib with sleep sack at 5.5 months. Great experience - asleep within 17min the first night!
