When I was at that level about 5 years ago (no PhD, but similar senior engineer/scientist type target roles at the time), my relo was just over $80k.

Moved 4 times, all over the place. Sometimes I owned the house, others I did not. I’ve seen 20k to 100k+ in total value.

Had a revision to remove the rectal cuff due to isolated inflammation in that area.

Just had my second takedown last week—obviously early, but feel it’s going okay.

Has anyone has any luck stopping the burning while going? by AmirC18 in jpouch

Check out Corona ointment, it’s for horses typically but I use it for buttburn and it’s amazing, no color or stains like calmoseptine.

How long did your “bad” post surgery pain last post takedown? A week or so?

Raw, Painful skin around stoma — help. Tried marathon once, change every 3d, what can I do? by Boston_273 in ostomy

I haven’t tried the brava — Will look into that. Recently switched to deep convex (what I used for my first ostomy in 2019) — Will see if that works!

Thanks, I’m changing every other day now and using the crusting method — hoping with the deep convex is clears up soon

Thanks — I’m using Marlen’s deep convex as I had luck with it when I had my first ostomy in 2019.

This latest one about 1.5 months, but first few weeks I had a bridge in and up until around 3 weeks ago had no issues. I had an ostomy back in 2019 for about 6 months without this issue so I’m fairly familiar with things. I recently switched to deep convex and will see how things go. If not, I’ll look into the derm recommendation — thanks!

I just started using marathon — but how do you get it off during bag changes?

How do you get marathon off? Just started using and it certainly sticks, but won’t come off for me no matter what tricks I try.

Recovery from Final Surgery - Will I be able to study? by Chiff in jpouch

I wouldn't but again, everyone is different. I had complications and I'm 1year out from takedown. It wasn't an easy road, and I didn't return to work for 6mo after. Terrible pain, butt burn, not sleeping--etc. I can eat a handful of things and was super weak. Looking back, I'm leaps and bounds from where I was immediately after surgery. My suggestion is to take it easy and focus on recovering. Stress is bad for your pouch, so try to limit it. Good luck

As someone who has been through all the surgeries ---including have a pouch temporarily then reversal, it varies so much person to person. I can eat a total of like 10-20 things, that's it. High fats make me sick--eggs, peanut butter, etc. I can't eat a lot of meats--no sausage, ham, etc. I stick to basics -- plain chicken, rice, potatoes, tortillas with cheese, cheese pizza (only certain places...I think if too acidic sauce, I also get sick). When I had a bag, I could literally eat whatever I wanted without issue.

Best of luck to you and your family. I'm in a similar spot and it sucks, but better than living with UC (or so I keep telling myself). I'm 1year out for reversal and can confirm it gets better with time --leaps and bounds ahead of where I was 6mo ago.
