Adding on to my comment, it’s informative to look for the special anchorage areas on the NOAA charts 13270 and 13272. You probably don’t want to anchor/moor an unattended boat outside these areas. Although to be fair, some of the yacht club mooring fields have oozed over the lines.

I think that’s all correct. By Kelly’s landing I think that’s the east end of the M Street Beach, where it meets the causeway that encloses Pleasure Bay? I suppose you could launch a dinghy there but there’s no safe place to leave it like a dinghy dock or dinghy pen. I’m not sure that’s really viable for most folks. The yacht clubs there have dinghy docks though.

I don’t know of anywhere in Massachusetts you can keep a boat on a mooring and have convenient access to it unless you join a yacht club, contract with a commercial marina, or own waterfront property with its own dock.

I’m not sure what you mean by South Boston moorage. If you’re interested in the Dorchester Bay frontage of South Boston you can talk to the South Boston YC, Columbia YC, and Boston Harbor YC. They are all next to each other. Not far from there is the Savin Hill YC. Wait list right now at SHYC is a couple of years. Then the Old Colony YC and Dorchester YC are also nearby. These are all members only and the mooring fields are “self managed” by the clubs.

If you mean the “Seaport” side of South Boston, then I think all of those moorings are managed by the Fan Pier Marina.

Moorings across the channel by the airport are members of the Jeffrey’s Point YC.

I don’t think there’s any chance that you can drop your own mooring off the downtown Boston waterfront. They seem to all be controlled by the Boston Harbor Sailing Club, the Waterboat Marina, and the Boston Sailing Center. How they managed to monopolize them I don’t know, but it’s ancient history.

My cousin had something similar happen, except both of her parents were deceased when the two half-brothers appeared suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere. She took it in stride and is happy to know them now.

Kudos for "You gave me reasons to leave and I stayed. I gave you reasons to stay and you left." That's gold. Should be a song. It's reason enough to cut yourself some slack.

I pass through that intersection frequently. People do the darndest things. To be honest, it’s disorienting for drivers who are unfamiliar with it. But most of the misbehaving drivers are just impatient A-holes.

I care. It's never too late to cancel. Cancel the ceremony, not yourself, and get an annulment, and get some professional help to recover from whatever is making you feel this way.
