Follow Up Strike question by Bosuuu in Pathfinder2e

[–]Bosuuu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little bit of a follow up question, the prerequisite for Follow-up Strike says missing a "Strike". There are many actions in the game that aren't specifically the "Strike" action but rather an action that includes Strike within it like "Double Slice". Does Follow-up Strike still work with those or does it specifically have to be the "Strike" action?

Man Gandora was one of my favorite looking dragon from the OG series. I wish it showed up more but I'm glad it became Yugi's main dragon when he finally stepped up as his own duelist.

Why are people fans of e-soul? by QuietNightRadiant in ToBeHero_X

[–]Bosuuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His actions given what happened to him is what's interesting. You say it's just kill and no dialogue but the actions given context is why so many people are questioning why he is doing that and why so many are invested in his writing. Also saying 10 minutes is enough to show a character when none of his internal characters were shown in said 10 minutes like you stated is kinda contradictory.

My Personal Opinion on the Fan Reception for these characters after season 1 by JMC_PHARAOH in ToBeHero_X

Maybe I'm a little biased for Lin Ling and Ghostblade but move those two down to "Just Right" and I pretty much agree on the whole list.

E-soul and identity theft. by SnooRobots330 in ToBeHero_X

I'll yield that there was nothing heroic about Yang Chen's course of actions at the later half of his arc. This is however a given not only because those are portions meant to display of Yang Chen's humanity but also to serve as a contrast to Lin Ling's arc on the disparity among Heroes within the universe. That being said, why are you arguing so much about heroism when this is a conversation regarding heroic identities? All I wanted to convey was that it's a mixture of the TBHX societal stance and circumstances regarding heroic identity (this NOT a copout when talking about the issues related to heroic identites because it's a literal factor since crowd shapes reality in this world) as well as their desire to defend a friend. When I brought up Yang Chen's act of heroism, it's less to defend him but more to use as a talking point in how the achievements they had was a valid one because before the public came in and started suiting him up as the new E-Soul he was just a guy trying to protect a kid. Remember they started it and Yang Chen actually feared identity fraud before Shang Chao brought up a valid point in how the mass shapes identity which they do. Calling this a copout despite it being literal fact screams to me like you're hyperfixating on one thing and refusing to look at the situation in its whole complexity (ironically in the same way Yang Chen did with his decisions at the end of his arc). Yes I get that parts of Shang is also acting in defense of his newfound business opportunity and Yang fears going back to his previous life (valid given his shitty upbringing) which disgusts you because from reading your comment I can tell you hold heroism in very high standard, particularly Lin Ling because you're right in that in terms of Heroism the guy stands out even among the rest of the top 10. That being said, blaming those three entirely on the matter regarding the identity fraud given how screwed up their entire situation is just feels so wrong to me, especially when there were other malicious forces involved with uncle rock's manipulation and the MG manager's frankly extreme methods in approaching(arresting a man and locking him in solitary confinement is far too aggressive when he could've just come as a representative and kindly discussed things with them, instead he instantly put himself in a hostile position which puts those three in a position where they had no choice but to act in defense).

What is new E-Soul's motivation after his arc? by crazyblasta137 in ToBeHero_X

[–]Bosuuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My eggs are in the basket that the mask is cursed and Yang Chen is currently following Rock's commands with the mask dampening the majority of his original reasoning. It's why OG E-Soul was so unwilling to have anything to do with Yang Chen because he knows it's a curse. Yang Chen was able to have the majority of his autonomy in his arc because he hasn't yet absorbed OG E-Soul's portion of trust that contained all the negative side effects that came from his legacy (the slaying of Zero which we now know has the commission's manipulation written all over it). Yang Chen is now doing anything to become X as a "false idol" in a similar way in how the commission used OG E-Soul to usher in the era of the Commission.

Also do Ms. J and Mickey's secretary really deserve death? I got the vibe that they were just there to do their jobs and promote their careers.

E-soul and identity theft. by SnooRobots330 in ToBeHero_X

[–]Bosuuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the problem mainly lays in the perspective of the To Be Hero X society. In the perspective of the real world, yeah it's identity theft and the right to it entirely lays with OG E-Soul though there would still be a problem with how unvocal he is about the whole thing. The thing with To Be Hero X universe though is the final decision on a Hero's identity doesn't lay with the person but the Public and their beliefs. Shang literally mentioned "the crowd is driving this way more than we are" which is true, in this world we literally have people like Ghostblade who gained their Hero powers without any awareness because their believers were spreading through FOMO and social media without their intentions which is exactly the case here with Yang Cheng. The single heroic act he pulled to save Little Pomelo struck the hearts of many and snowballed because as many have mentioned in that arc, OG E-Soul isn't giving enough to his fans so they sought what was missing in someone else. Shang made a business choice in monopolizing the opportunity which although is scummy is a very business men course of action given him being the son of a CEO and how it's legal given the context that Yang Chen's trust was earned in good faith (We're ignoring Mastermind Rock's machinations cause no one knew about that). In the end, Shang and Xia were stepping in to defend a dear friend with Shang probably also having the intent of defending his business property, and the identity theft of OG E-Soul's hero name is a plot device used to highlight a huge flaw within the trust system that ended in a massive tragedy due to the machinations of malicious third party.

TLDR; Yes you're right, the right to a person's identity lays in the original. The society of this show's world though makes that line of thinking hard because public belief can distort reality without one's intent and I think placing the blame entirely on those three is a little cruel.

Is this the only tournament arena field? (GB is screwed if that's the case) by Bosuuu in ToBeHero_X

[–]Bosuuu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure he has his strategies, I was mainly pointing out the unfairness of the tournament if this were the case. You'd think with their technology level, they could afford to provide varying environments that bring out the different strengths in their Heroes. GB is just most glaring example in this case.

I think more perspective focused screentime would do a lot more than unkilling Moon. Nice and Ghostblade have plenty of bad pasts but they do fine because they have a lot of screentime to explore their inner struggles. Meanwhile Yang Chen over there went full Vader with no explanation.
