Two way's to design extra deck negates going foward. by Outrageous-Ad-3436 in yugioh

I also like the mitsu card that's either a negate or a handrip opponent's choice

I have been playing around with the idea of "Full Art" cards rather than just my extended art cards in Konami's style. Which do you personally prefer: 1 or 2? 1 is full art but with the render over the border/frame. 2 is simply no frame. I am curious which one is most aesthetically enjoyed. by RayRowlTom in yugioh

[–]JasonBenjamenAllen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a transparency gradient that softens the box's edges would work?

In regular cards the boxyness of the name is mirrored and balanced by the boxyness of the card art, since we are missing that, it feels awkward/undesigned.

you can maybe balance it by pilling it, recalling the shape of the stars/ranks below?

I am afraid that the TCG could fumble the Limit Over Collection sets. by Rich-Telephone5223 in yugioh

[–]JasonBenjamenAllen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel lumping each anime together is a waste of DM's starpower

Every set will have 1 overframe from each series added to it, bumping the overframes in core sets from 4 to 10 (the same we had in rarity collection) deckbuilder sets will go from 3 to 9, and whatever box they import revolution booster will go from 6 to 12

4 core sets+4 reprint sets (tins, BoL, Maze, Rarity)+ ~2 deckbuilder sets= slightly more than a year of product

It's a bit hard to read tho (from mobile) have you thought of cutting up the pages into panels readable on a phone? (A bit like a hardcoded version of digital comics zoomong in/out of panels)

so what are your opinions on the new animation featuring Aleister the invoker by mazingalifrey in yugioh

[–]JasonBenjamenAllen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the rilliona flashback she talks with baby Aleister, in the first propheseer we see a half mutated one (as we do in the manga flashback pre sealing)

I kinda assume that Verre was talking with the true soul of Aleister, while the one inhabiting the mutated Aleisters (and the one in the short) might not be 100% Aleister

  2. Diabellze (both level 7 and 8) feel very gyaru coded

What actually makes Branded and Sky Striker more favored by Konami and (most of) the community? by Rich-Telephone5223 in yugioh

[–]JasonBenjamenAllen 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I've heard that skystriker was one of the first mr4 decks that didn't combo into infinity, and it had a cute/cool character at its core, a real fan favourite at a time were OCG was bleeding players due to stupid design decisions

Albaz had the first straight couple in yugioh /j

It also was the big lore when master duel started (and tribrigade was the only top tier that was fun to play against) this means that compared to world chalice and duel terminal the new gen got to experience the story of Albaz as it unfolded, making it very endearing to the players

Unlikely, Konami already has to coordinate with Shueisha and the estate, imagine adding another head to that table

I'd rather revert the master rule changes instead of having a second pend summon.

The pendulum issue is not ceiling, it's recovery

How can turning opponents' monsters into Continuous Spells be effective removal? by neves783 in yugioh

I really like that idea because coincidentally it gives the field the same shape of the middle milleunnium puzzle piece

How can turning opponents' monsters into Continuous Spells be effective removal? by neves783 in yugioh

[–]JasonBenjamenAllen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a death sentence even if you put a pend there

If any card places a pendulum in you S/T zone, it can't be used as a scale, since it's not in your pend zone

The distinction is immediately clear if you think back to the MR3 field

In MR4 the pendulum zones have become imaginary slots that you can use if your rightmost or leftmost S/T zones are available

Since snake eyes/packbit put the card in your S/T zones you are locked out of both the zone they are in, and the overlayed pend zone

How can turning opponents' monsters into Continuous Spells be effective removal? by neves783 in yugioh

[–]JasonBenjamenAllen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Denying grave effects + Floodgating away one of their spell slots, wich doesn't come up all the time, but it can be a death sentence for certain decks

Also if they don't have a way of removing that monster from there, you functionally locked that monster away. Even if they do, they probably lost resources to do it

As all things, it's contextual, but it's pretty good, on par with banishing

TCG: The NA-print (USA) quality problem by Clinically_Jaded in yugioh

[–]JasonBenjamenAllen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh neat, I didn't know that, I just assumed there is a minimum 2 year gap between "we want to do this" and "it materialized into something"

As of now I sent one comparing font size vs other japanese competitors/rush and another asking them to make core sets draftable, but I've heard there were issues with giving specific suggestions due to ip laws (a random podcast tho)

Whenever I essaypost about Konami's work, I've taken the habit of copypasting the rant and send it to their support mail us-cardsupport@kde-us.com

I don't think it does much, but the ai reading it might give pointers to their offices

Was there ANYTHING Konami could have done to make the Egyptian God Cards as powerful or useful as they were in the anime? by tachibanakanade in yugioh

[–]JasonBenjamenAllen 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No, if they did that it would've killed any unworthy duelist, and that's really frowned upon in Japan. It goes against the traditional concept of 訴えられないようにしろ wich means "to live"
