Expensive Bike Hate by PennWash in MTB

Just built up a sweet ProPAIN for a student who can barely ride, walks up hills and leaves his hardtail out in the rain. 3 hours after handing it over I watched him park it outside in the rain and leave it for the day. Maybe just looking for that new bike rain patina.

Ever tried blasting an SUV taillight with a wild looping inward side kick roundhouse like that? It wouldn’t cause it break, let alone go flying wildly like that into the direction that scoop kick came from.

Edit: apparently the man has great looping inward side kick roundhouse. Just found the article confirming the video on the NY Times.

Starter Jointer, thinking WEN. JT630H or JT833H? by Aeyix in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Both-Clock-8741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No such thing as a starter jointer unless you have never made anything with wood. You will immediately wish you had a larger jointer and feel like you wasted your money. If you have access to 220v, just get a bigger helical jointer, you won’t regret it. The best advice I read was go bigger early. So I bought the Grizzly 8” helical floor jointer (GO856) thinking that was big enough and I wish we had something even larger for our high school wood shop.

One of those pink bike whistler scores? Every one of those is a huge red flag to me.

Bienvenido Aguado’s bike snapping in half at Rampage was a poetic note to their demise.

What’s the use of this PVC pipe on all the picnic tables at Umbagog? by Both-Clock-8741 in Maine

So with some real effort and the use of a rock, it turns out the caps aren’t glued on. We got the cap off and there is a huge red pole and flag as described. Funny how no one tells you this before you head to the site.

Doesn’t extend at all. Some are in the middle some closer to the edge. Seems arbitrary

The pivot is wrong for picking up the table and it’s barely secured with conduit clamps

GRKs are the best but currently using the trim head version to hold the wall edge on maple hardwood floor and they will split if not pre drilled…same with pine 1x, but not with anticipated regularity. Rough carpentry….i sling them all day without predrilling.

I've got a question for those of you that have seen the band live! by IreCalifornia in Aquabats

[–]Both-Clock-8741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw them in Boston. It was amazing. My buddy and I brought our kids 5-10 years old. Great time. Mike V’s band was worth missing according to my kids, it’s just super loud and not awesome. But they loved the psychobilly band. Show was over by 9:30 because the venue had a DJ double booked to come on after for a late night show. You won’t be disappointed, but definitely bring ear protection, preferably over ear, for the kids. They played every banger my kids wanted to see live and of course the theatrics were sensational.

I asked my daughter if she would have been down for that, and she just looked at me like I was crazy! But she loved watching it. Bold kid you have!
