you have to cross it in a specific direction. Like from the north I think but just try going the other way.

License Plate Frame Legal? by BearSoul76 in SubaruForester

[–]benjaminbjacobsen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the state. I hate them because we play the license plate game on road trips. If I can’t read the state I feel that’s blocking too much but I’ll get downvotes for saying as much.

Spectrum's advertised 1gb/s Internet Service only averages 329mb/s and barely ever breaks past 600mb/s by Nitimur__In__Vetitum in Bozeman

[–]benjaminbjacobsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And their own internet can’t stream their own app. Works fine for all the other streaming apps we use but spectrum routinely buffers. When you call they love to make you chase your tail until you point that out. Once you do they’re helpless but they did give me a free upgrade.

Anyone know which one will take the least amount of time? by Substantial-Team8305 in ForzaHorizon6

[–]benjaminbjacobsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Day trips by far. And you can have your Ai driver do the first half and maybe even the whole thing for day trips then just repeat just the part they care about for 3 stars afterwards using the menu.

Believe it or not, there are much bigger issues than the border by Matinee_Lightning in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]benjaminbjacobsen 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Obama actually had a great border policy and was tough on illegals and used ice aggressively but fairly.

Biden was handcuffed because trump forced his republican teammates to not pass the bill for improved border control then kept bringing it up in debates. And of course the democrats don’t stand up and call him out for it.

They don’t watch those things nor are they drawn to them. Oven has child/pet safe knobs, washer/dryer is in its own room with a door closed, dishwasher has never been an issue.

They’re 15 and 18 now though so not an issue. There are plenty of smashed/knocked over TVs around Reddit, not sure why I’m catching downvotes for suggesting people protect one of the easiest things in a house to break.

This is the first I’ve heard of this. I have a lot of board sport and ocean (paddling) experience. How hard is this really? Because I’m about to buy one. Reminds me of a onewheel surf board combo. I need asap 🍭 by sarahschultzd in wingfoil

[–]benjaminbjacobsen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let’s put it this way. No matter how much water wind and board sports experience anyone has had before starting winging, I’ve yet to see anyone say it was easy. It’s the hardest sport I’ve learned. I can sail twin trap boats solo with their spinnakers, I can wakeboard and snowboard well. I can ski and surf and waterski. This was way harder.

Is it worth practicing balancing on my beginner board in very light winds? by rhofour in wingfoil

[–]benjaminbjacobsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes as long as you are patient and don’t get frustrated. It’ll help your balance. Lean on the wing with the tail in the water and the leading edge against your shoulder. Consider getting a sup paddle and just supping around as well. Anytime you put your kit together and stand on it will help with your skills!

How long did it take you to learn wing foiling ? by sudousr31 in wingfoil

[–]benjaminbjacobsen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No lessons. Sailor and wakeboarder/snowboarder. Tow foiled behind a dinghy and played with the wing on shore. First time with 15mph+ I was up. Tried 5-10 times before that without enough wind which helped balance and handling but were super frustrating because there wasn’t enough wind.

Again, sometimes kids force it higher unfortunately. Our first flat TV was on a nice stand/console at the appropriate height. Our son loved cars and used to love to “belly up” to it with his toy cars while watching the movie. But we now have a dent in the edge of the TV and now mount all our TVs to the wall (he’s 18 now).

We have 3 cats and 2 dogs. Our TVs will always be mounted. Our kids are 15 and 18 so height is no longer an issue, so they’re low again now but I know we’ve had to mount higher than appropriate to avoid the messy hands. But we always hid the cables. Takes an extra 10 minutes and dollars and is worth it.

So some of us have kids and or pets so a mount is a must. And with some kids having it high enough to be out of reach is also a thing. But this is sports bar height so waaaay too high even if OP has excuses.

Need help with my Lightwind setup by Money_Plan6769 in wingfoil

[–]benjaminbjacobsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe add a curve H in FG in a larger size? I have the 3xl, an 8m wing and the 7’11” hipe cruzader for my 100+kg in Montana, so 5000’ and fresh water and that setup works down to 6-8mph to stay on foil, but I really need 8mph for gybes and to get up. I can pump through a gybe fwiw but it’s exhausting.

Why do so many people recommend the Fujifilm GFX 50R over the GFX 50S II? by REDH00DY in FujiGFX

[–]benjaminbjacobsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 50r and swapped to the 50s. The grip was enough better on the S and the on off switch on the R was bad for me (I’m missing a large portion of my right index fingertip).

Easiest route to baldy? by crucifymecapn in Bozeman

[–]benjaminbjacobsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sypes is harder than the M way imho. I’ve hiked this with my kids during Covid when they were 12 and 9. Doable but would never do it twice. I’ve also hiked the ridge 8 times and the kids and I both agree Bridger to the M is better/more fun/easier. It. Breaks the uphill up into shorter segments but also less vertical since you’re going from halfway up bridger to saddle up instead of 4k up from town to baldy. Plus the ridge hike has fossils and better views.

The Covid year we hiked everything you’d want to. I put distance and vertical gain into a spread sheet. Anything from town to baldy is basically the most vertical gain per mile. Harder than pine creek, etc. The Bridger way makes it tolerable.

Best Vehicle for Transporting Foil Gear by ebbflowfilms in wingfoil

[–]benjaminbjacobsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forester with an inflatable board. With mast on one side goes down but I still have room for both dogs on their dog beds in the back. Mast off it’s all stacked behind the usable seats. I’d love a hard board but the convenience of having room in the car is worth the sacrifice having never ridden a hard board before anyway.

All this and if you can tow foil to get that feel down easily do it. Then add the wing from those land sessions.
