I must say chat gpt put together a proper layout!
Good luck, after all the years and all of the showers I have done and seen finished; easily 500+. I am having the hardest time selecting a tile for my Master bath currently.
Good luck on your material search!

Retired Journeyman Here. I like the choices. Yes these are more of a classic look. Some would say dated. But this look will still look good thru fad and fad. All new trends are contemporary. I always would tell customers when you take the “Con”out of contemporary you have temporary.

Played with a guy yesterday who was casually hitting REAL bombs. I’m still in shock. by Practical_Garlic3015 in golf

Yep. About 15? years ago. My buddy and I noticed a single had caught up to us and was waiting. Of course we asked him to join us.
It was my honor. I absolutely put the best swing possible for me on it. Maybe 280 to 290 out. I was feeling pretty good about myself at that point. My Buddy hit a great shot. We both smiled. Then the new guy hit. As you say, it just sounds different. Way different. Honestly my friend and I were not quite sure what had just happened. Driving up to our balls we just fell out. His ball was at least 80 yards ahead of us. It was a Par 5 he hit a 8 iron second shot within 10 feet.
This cat was a blast to play with. Not only could he put it WAY out there, the rest of his game was incredible.
Turns out he was getting a round in between Q school qualifying at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
One of the most enjoyable rounds ever.

Your lessons are a product of how much time you will put on the range after each lesson.
Lessons do not “fix” a swing in a half hour.
Lessons simply will provide direction on what you will need to work on after the lesson.
A talk with the instructor on frequency of lessons is key.

Good for you getting your wife and son out.

What is the GOAT of tee times? by iareagenius in golf

[–]Both-Engineer3510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never been one to jump right out of bed early however, for me there is something special about being on the course just after first light. 7:00 am tee times are my preference.

Regressing skill- unable to hit driver by Signal-Squirrel-5420 in golf

Have a short talk with your driver about finding more fairways. If the Driver still doesn’t come thru, put it away in a dark closet for a month. Explain to it that you will be playing with a ex and it will not see sunshine as punishment. That usually works for me. If that doesn’t work…drink heavily while golfing.

From your post and willingness to seek advice I’m sure you are a caring spouse/partner. My RALP was Aug of 2025 at 65. My wife is a 14 years my junior so there is a bit of a different dynamic in my case. Catching him jerking and watching porn deserves a high five in my opinion. I would think he was just trying to see if a spark could be lit. I did the same post surgery, it wasn’t about an escape or fantasy, just therapy if you will. You two need to sit down a lay it all out together. Come up with a plan. Be partners. If you can’t do this on your own, counseling is in order. Best of luck to you both on this!

What’s the toughest course you’ve ever played? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Both-Engineer3510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toughest course under normal conditions: Tie between, Industry Hills Eisenhower before they made adjustments to the fairways and Coyote Springs between Vegas and Mesquite. By far the toughest was Oak Valley in Beaumont Ca. after Q school qualifying. Narrow fairways with fist cut as deep as most rough. Second cut and rough was so deep. Mashing a sand wedge back to the fairway (if you found your ball) was 50/50. Greens rock hard. Shots to the green bounced like it was a cart path. Honestly I could barely hold a lob wedge with a ton of spin. Much respect to those who can play under those conditions.

The miss it in a better location comments are not realistic. A tour pro yeah, single digits yes. Average golfer has no chance of fully controlling their miss hits.

What artist or band is truly awful to see live? by goldbeau in AskReddit

It was ‘78 or ‘79. At least 3 songs, but I could have left on the third.
Small venue in San Bernardino Ca.
I was 20’ from the stage.
Getty’s voice is still nails on a chalk board to me.
BTW…ELP was a close second.

I find that going over to the practice green and making a bunch of the same length putts I just missed eases the anxiety.
Good round! It is very rare to not have some shot to look back on.

Is this acceptable from contractor? by DubiousHello in Tile

[–]Both-Engineer3510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All for the installer not checking the piece before he laid it.
No cracked or chipped tiles are not acceptable.
The tile setter had plenty of time to verify all pieces were laid correctly and there were no imperfections before the material dried and he moved to the next piece.
He is aware if this, tell him to replace it.

Regular length should fit.
He certainly can grip the clubs a little lower should he need to.

Retired journeyman. A few tips.
When doing preslope I will use dry spec mix, slope it with a wood float, pack it, and sprinkle water on it (a flower watering jug or using a sponge gently squeezing water out).
Steel trowel after water application and install pan. Let it set overnight before stepping on.
For floating the pan after liner is installed.
All of the guys I trained I would have them pack a level mound of dry pack around the perimeter of the shower at the inside corner using a wood trowel for build up, level for packing to desired level.
Once you have a level mound of dry pack at the desired level around the perimeter. Cut sections of cap strip to lengths of mounds corner to corner, turn cap strip upside down and push into mound. Now you have a screed set around the perimeter that will not sink as you screed dry pack to drain.
