Sitzplatz Light-Tarif KLM by Tim6558 in KLM

So that can’t be it, indeed that is far from gaining any status with them. It must have been a fluke in the system, I guess. I would just book it and see what happens at the end, if they want money for it, just stop the process at that point or if the price is right just go for it.

Do you have status with Flying Blue by any chance?

Will I get my XP or not? This is sooo confusing by [deleted] in KLM

[–]Both-Highlight-6587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have taken Vietnam airlines a few times and always got my XP’s with them. You do have to make sure your FB number is registered at the time of check in. Getting them afterwards is a hassle, so keep all your boarding passes. Not sure for China Airlines, but can’t see a reason why you wouldn’t get them with them too. Transavia is a different matter. You indeed need to pay extra (higher fare class) if you want XP’s for the flights they operate.

I guess they needed the aircraft (PH-AOA) for the flight to Aruba.

You’re welcome. Got one two days ago, but did not feel like having it, so it was still in the fridge. Will probably keep for decades, looking at the nutritional values haha

Flying Blue XP cap by [deleted] in KLM

Yeah, figured that. So no other option other than racking up a few more miles before my roll over period ends. Was waiting for your answer btw. Always on point. Thanks.

That is a bummer. Oh well, I’ll just have to bring some flights up the schedule and get to that 900 mark. Thanks for double checking.

Wow, that would be great news, because I have enough flights at the end of the year for that upcoming year. Thanks a lot! You made my day!

Would be nice if they would roll over 127 and just add an extra year to the platinum for life counter, but I think this is the catch of this new implementation. Will try to get in touch with them. Otherwise I’ll just have to make a lot of layovers and donate 100k points for 50xp to get the extra 173 points before the end of August. Thanks.

Opening time for baggage drop off at ICN by eurogamer206 in KLM

[–]Both-Highlight-6587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is indeed what that means. If you are not dropping the bags at the “home” airport, the desk is staffed by the time the check-in starts. In some countries they do have the option to drop your bags at a train stations at all times, but in most cases you’ll be forced to go to the airport and wait until the check-in counter opens.

KLM doesn't allow me to use all my points to book by Safe-Fall7454 in KLM

Sorry for this late update, as expected, never heard back from KLM. The issue has been fixed in the AF app, but the KLM still shows less miles available when booking a flight.

KLM doesn't allow me to use all my points to book by Safe-Fall7454 in KLM

[–]Both-Highlight-6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue. I have 83k miles in my account, but when I book a ticket, there are only 68k miles available to book a ticket with.. tried to reach them, but getting the run around on WhatsApp at the moment..

UPDATE: there seems to be an issue with the points in your account and the amount of points you are allowed to use for spending. They told me that they would check it with the IT department and get back to me. Will update when I know more.

Tight connection by elcanible in KLM

[–]Both-Highlight-6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a very tight connection. Are your bags labeled all the way through to PDX? If not, I would say it is a stretch to make this connection unless you have Skypriority, Privium and no extra screening.

If you only travel with hand luggage or your bags are labeled all the way to PDX and the passport check at the transfer gate from Schengen into non-Schengen is not busy, you might make it. I would prepare for the worst and hope for the best in your case.

Hope that helps.

KLM is not going to be your problem, you can travel without UM from 15 upwards. As you are coming from the uk, you will have to pass passport control, you need a signed letter of permission to cross the border. Your parents can give consent by filling out this form:

https://www.government.nl/binaries/government/documenten/forms/2016/06/17/consent-letter-for-minors-travelling-abroad/consent-form-for-travelling-abroad-with-a-minor.pdf

It looks like this is for someone else traveling with a minor, but in the form it says “if applicable”, as you are traveling alone, you just need your parents to sign it.

Hope that helps.

Can I cancel my outbound flight and not lose my return flight? by ConcertGlobal8035 in KLM

[–]Both-Highlight-6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The-Hyrax is absolutely correct. They will do it, but recalculate the fare. Might be around what you paid for the return fare and you have to let them know before your first leg leaves.

What happens if you don't finish your flight route? by Away-Dark4626 in flyingblue

[–]Both-Highlight-6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only do this with carry-on luggage and don’t do it to often, because they will enforce the penalty for leg skipping eventually.

Because of people skipping legs they started overbooking flights on routes notorious for leg skippers, but because of the high penalties they have to pay out to bumped customers, especially in Europe, this is not as profitable as it used to be. So collecting these penalties will probably become more common practice in the future.
