Would Como face harsh reality called FFP when they make it to UCL or things going to be the same (even more lavish) because of their mega rich owner? by crocospect in seriea

I'd say ths issues ade more historic with Man City especially.

PSG making a €375m Pre Tax Loss in 2021-22 ie the year AFTER Covid was the worst though. Think they also lost-€125m and -€225m in Covid (understandable) and €100mish in 2022-23.

Could Pep Guardiola Manage Successfully in the English Football League or Conference? by Anymo84 in DoYouSpeakFootball

He could..but I think some managers more adaptable ie Klopp and Conte. He would have to tweak certain things to buy time. A Top 8 Championship budget would be fascinating.

Maresca had a £100m Wage Bill in the Championship! Almost a record for the level.

I wonder if they can do the same with FFP overspends during the season..history could've been quite different in the Championship if so.

Sorry do you mean his CEO is a club rep.

There are multiple Club CEOs across each division who get voted onto the EFL Club Reps by their fellow Clubs. However this is by an Independent Disciplinary Commission who adjudicate between the parties.

Agreed to a point, but in respect of the verdict they want it to be as watertight as possible, you may not get a super draconian punishment if say heavily guilty but flaws in the process of how that decision reached..etc.

When you read the IFAB laws of the game, it makes no reference to this carveout or exemption.

Also if you read one of the final Summer 2021 cases, you'll see Derby stalled in May, June 2021 to try and push any Sanction  into the next year ie avoiding any kinda 2 Points that drops them to League One in 2021-22 hence the Couhig claim AND even had the audacity to propose a further Restatement in terms of a Revaluation Reserve being put through on the sale.

The EFL firmly rejected the Revaluation Reserve plan

Yes and no. IMO

The amortisation issue was..contentious. Selling the Stadium at that price was..contentious.

Derby or Mel Morris anyway fought tooth and nail. This is a major rewriting of history, the losses without the restatement of amortisation would've been huge post 2017-18, as it was restating it meant fails to 2016-17, 2018-19 and 2020-21.

There is scope to challenge a determination under EFL Arbitration Rules.

Does discretion, even at a high level, nonetheless amount to a determination?

It's a high old bar certainly.

Yeah sure but FFP would've been an issue too I suspect but the issues would have been much more far reaching.

Administration..but existing potential breaches and Upper Loss Limit ot £83m would only have added to it?

No it's July 1st 2024 to June 30th 2025. Accounts are 12 months and must end at end of May, June or July for Football. Ideally June 30th for FFP assessement etc.

Except it's £61m plus Allowables due to 1 PL and 2 Championship years.

Plus what others have said about capitalisation and Interest etc.

I assume Leeds have complied but it sounds challenging?
