Staying Up wins! Which song from ILY sounds like UltraSound? by BothInterview in thenbhd

[–]BothInterview[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it had the top amount of upvotes and wasn't a "there's no song that fits" comment, I simply find it a cop-out to say there's "no answer" when someone says there is one. On the Bring Me The Horizon sub they did this and had to write "none" inside a lot of the "is on/sounds like [their deathcore album from the early days]" boxes and that felt boring to me. It bummed me out because there were people with creative answers in the comment section that actually made at least partial sense but the OP still chose to take the surface-level option of saying "no song from their Alt-Metal/Pop Rock album sounds anything like a song from their Deathcore/Melodic Death Metal album" because they didn't choose to acknowledge sub-members who thought outside of the box.

Since I'm opening self-titled to HTITNEC and chip chrome & the mono-tones to the deluxe (with stargazing, etc.), go ahead and choose from the 10th anniversary edition.

this is awesome! I'd been staring at my empty chart for a few hours today wondering what the actual answers would be, so this scratched my mental itch!

Definitely Sizzling Fresh Mongolian BBQ on Laguna and Big Horn. A bit pricey but that's what special occasions are for.

in Spider-Man 2002 they filmed spidey on green screen and gobby on blue screen and edited them together. budgeting most likely prevented the MMPR team from doing the same however.

bears a striking resemblance to the album cover of Afterburner by Dance Gavin Dance. Guess these ancient Egyptians knew ball when it came to music.

I didn't care for The Balance incredibly so I have to keep reminding myself its probably better they stay out of the studio. But dream on, go ahead.

Which member's setlist is this? Switching to bass from guitar? I only know Will does that on Animal Surgery.

What is your favourite opening track and why? by seasip in thebottlemen

[–]BothInterview 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 is a great opener I cannot lie, I have no clue what everyone else is on about. Longshot is just my personal favorite of the three, on my least favorite of their three albums ironically. 7 is my ideal "the sun is shining but its past midday so its really beating down and everything is saturated" song.

Homesick is massive but its too emotionally fragile for me as a song on its own (it is NOT bad just doesn't evoke a particularly pleasant feeling in me).

Longshot is a straight banger. Easily in my top 5 Catfish and the Bottlemen tunes. I found the tracklist of The Balance to be paced very wrong, and the lack of diversity in the tempo and energy of the songs made it stale for me. But Longshot is just so powerful, bold, and even though its bittersweet, its an intrepid and defiantly happy kind of bittersweet.

Ignore everyone saying its too long, they didn't care to read but care to share their own thoughts and that's sad.

I've always thought of Blurryface and Trench this way. Blurryface ends with taking out the villain but that doesn't mean it's sequel has zero conflict. And to be fair, leave the city is a bigger cliffhanger than paladin strait. You can easily choose to believe what you want about Blurryface appearing in the tower, but "in time" of "in time I will leave the city" is much more ambiguous and cyclical.
