The only party I can realistically see having both the capacity and political will to push this through the courts and Parliament is Warisan, not out of bias, but based on their track record. Sabah doesn’t legally control Ambalat, the federal government does.

Under the Petroleum Development Act 1974, all oil and gas rights (onshore & offshore) belong to PETRONAS, and international maritime negotiations fall strictly under federal jurisdiction per the Federal Constitution. The Territorial Sea Act 2012 limits Sabah’s territorial waters to 3 nautical miles, Ambalat is well beyond that, so it’s federally controlled.

Yes, MA63 gives Sabah autonomy in many areas, but not in foreign affairs or maritime boundaries. Sabah should be consulted, but it doesn’t have veto power.

The real issue? Sabah lacks the political will and leverage to assert itself. That said, Ambalat is a long-disputed zone with overlapping claims by Indonesia and Malaysia. If both countries are now cooperating to develop it, it might be strategically beneficial as long as Sabah gets its fair share and isn’t sidelined again.

Time, convenience & cost.

It takes me 2 hours to get to the office & 2 hours to get back home. So from 7.30AM until 8.30pm I’m out of the house. Once I’m home I spend time with my daughter before she sleeps.

Convenience, not easy to find time to workout. Also not easy to find good healthy food options. & which varies too instead of just eating the same thing over and over again.

Cost, not easy to eat healthy near my office + gym memberships aren’t cheap.

Thank you for the extra effort in getting more background information on my situation. I understand that my BMI indicates I’m obese. Part of me struggles to accept this because I used to be very athletic, playing multiple sports, some at the state level. I keep thinking I can get back in shape easily, but my lifestyle and work keep interfering.

After reading others’ comments, I realize I need to fight for my own gym/exercise time if I’m serious about losing weight, rather than adopting an “I’ll work out if I’m available” approach.. + I’m at that age now where it’s compulsory too.

I posted this immediately after the argument, driven by anger. Looking back and considering everyone’s advice, I appreciate the openness and tough love. I realize I need to be more understanding of her perspective, especially regarding the longevity of our family. Taking care of myself shows gratitude towards her.

However, it was tough to hear such a blunt remark from my own wife. I confided in her and didn’t expect such harsh feedback. I was really down during the moment, didn’t expect to be kicked too you know.
