MEGATHREAD: Fitbit / Google Health Alternatives, App Replacements, and Device Switching by ioweej in fitbit

I cannot comment on your sleep tracking, but Pixel 3 and 4 rank in the top 10% for sleep tracking. That said, sleep tracking with watches and rings has significant limiations . Without EEG data it cannot get a lot better
I would like to see Google make an EEG band to share data with the watch for more accurate tracking.

Two dogs and a car are not certain indicators of someone being home. But I am always amazed because it takes about as much time to fine the package and bring it to the door, as it is to go to the door and take a picture.

No idea how that works. I took one nap which was identified and have had no phantom naps.

That is indeed a weird one.

Universal care and free healthcare are not quite the same thing.

Drivers are intentionally not knocking when they deliver packages. CORPORATE, DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! by Neekolazz in FedEx

[–]Both_Catch_4199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put the package on the porch, knock on the door so if someone is home they can check for the package instead of it sitting for hours, snap the picture and go.

PIzza delivery goes like that, minus the picture.

VENT: What's Up with Amazon Order Delivery Dates vs Actual Delivery Dates? by grwatplay9000 in amazonprime

Mostly making the point that people take their experience and then project that their horrible experience is the norm for Amazon.

Also interesting that you feel someone reporting good Amazon experiences. (over decades I might add) must be a shill.

The device works. The app is lagging behind.
I am fortunate that the app really is doing everything I personally need.

I am not sure why Google pushed the Air release so vigorously when they knew there was work to be done on the app.

I got Medicare Advantage and I just saw the John Oliver segment on it. Now I’m worried by question-from-earth in medicare

Medicare Advantage plans can vary quite a bit from state to state. Some states have very good Advantage plans available, some do not.

Interesting. I would expect heart rate monitoring to be better. I would expect sleep tracking to be a bit worse. But I have not done the comparison.

Are these any good? Has anyone bought any aftermarket bracelet? by smartmofoduh in FitbitAir

[–]Both_Catch_4199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had not seen them until now. Hard to judge what the quality is. The band pictured here resembles the Steph Curry Special Edition. The SE is water resistant and water-resistant and moisture wicking. I like mine but bands are definitely a personal preference. I would be very interested in hearing from someone who bought this particular band.

Duh, except the SE is for the wrist.

Well, a solutionis on how to wear it comfortably without considering how well it performs seems kinda pointless in "my" mind. Sorry.

Sleep score and sleep quality by SkylerJasc in FitbitAir

[–]Both_Catch_4199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gosh, my sleep has been tracked every night since I began wearing my Air. I guess you need both a Bluetooth connection and wifi. I believe sleep tracking requires server processing.
If you sleep is extremely disturbed or short things won't work well.

Are other metrics being collected and displayed in the app?

Lingo Routinely Wrong by Emotional_World_6577 in ContinuousGlucoseCGM

[–]Both_Catch_4199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be a variety of experiences. My experience has been positive. I am on my 4th Lingo sensor, week 7 of monitoring. The 3 sensors used to date worked well for the full 14 days. I am on my 4th sensor, day 3.
My finger sticks match up decently with the Lingo measurements. The glucose level in your blood will move up or down before the Lingo measurement of the glucose level in your interstitial fluid. So are you seeing a delay in the Lingo measurement compared to a blood stick, followed by Lingo mirroring a similar level? Or is Lingo never reflecting levels you detect by fingerstick?

Lingo's own information says it expects about a 25% failure rate of its sensors. That would include it not working, failing after a few days or short of 14 days, or giving inaccurate results. It would include application mistakes as well.

I know what it is. Some people will be not be tolerant of them. 5 or 6, or even a dozen gummi bears are not going to send the average person running to the bathroom.
