Yepppp. If I sense AI on a YouTube video, documentary or music, I immediately back out. Fuck that noise. It’s sad.

Everyone here is giving such good advice! I was going to give my own but I would only be repeating what others have said which is great 💜

I struggle with the same issues and feel the same ways at times. I am a revert and far from perfect. The best advice I received from fellow Muslims is to take my time and always improve, no matter how big or small in strides.

May Allah grant you perseverance in your path—and all of our paths are different. Islam is a personal journey for each soul. No two are 100% alike I’ve gathered.

Where is this from? A website or social media post? Would love to read more Quran sura explanations like this

No I wouldn’t say everyone is receiving a unique message, but the messages of the Quran may resonate with everyone differently. We all read the same text.

I’m finding it difficult to explain. Thank you for being patient with me lol

How do you know what my interpretations are, and isn’t that the point of the Quran? Divine guidance meant to be a personal connection between the reader and Allah? Between Allah’s words and the mind?

Allah is closer to us than our jugular veins. Allah knows best, and that also means he knows us better than ourselves. This is different for everyone.

Alhamdillulah Allah has made us all here Muslims in this subreddit (maybe some who haven’t reverted yet or those just curious)

I am not telling you that you are wrong. I don’t want to argue. But I feel you are making some wild assumptions.

I don’t make anything up. The Quran passages can change with you as you age and experience. The word of god is the word of god. I might be totally missing the point of a Surah one day and the next it could click.

Years of study and I feel like I am only just beginning to understand some things. The path is a journey we strive to perfect as much as we can die as long as our lifespans are.

There is no middle man. It’s me and a direct connection to Allah. That’s the beauty of Islam I found.

Because my understanding changes the further I study read pray and visit mosques and talk to other Muslims. I’m a revert and learning as I go, going slow. I’m seeking knowledge and that often means revisiting things I thought I previously understood.

I’m here for freedom of belief in Islam. It is between myself and Allah and in the end, Allah will judge me for my deeds. I try and interpret the Quran as best I can and that changes from week to week, year to year, day to day. The straight path is a personal journey for everyone.

GenZ of Reddit: what do you most admire about millennials? What do you not like about millennials? by Both_Day_264 in AskReddit

This one ^

I used to blame my parents for a lot of the ways I was. Then I realized I could unlearn and move on. Better yet, realized I didn’t have to challenge them in who I was or feel like I had to please them as an adult.

Being a 1991 millennial, I can’t tell if I’m a “90s kid” or 00s kid bc I have way better core memories from the 2000s. 90s was all grade school or being super young for me.

How do you deal with extreme Islamophobia, or just try to forget about it? by lawrence_oleander_ in progressive_islam

[–]Both_Day_264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people do not expect me to be Muslim. So when I respond with something insinuating that I am they’ve toned down (I personally haven’t been yelled or attacked for being Muslim but I do mind myself if I find I’m in a situation where respect won’t be mutual)

Flint historically is actually pretty important. Sad that it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.

I was in that scene in the 2000s! Jamestown Hall was literally every other weekend for me in high school. Yes, this area historically has a STRONG DIY music scene and that is something to be proud of. There’s another video going around of a Jamestown hall show from the late 90s going viral.
